Because you do so well in the other tournaments, you need to see how it feels on the bottom

Sorry I forgot to submit a scheme this month. My prices probably would have been the difference in not being able to put both Star Wars and Hunger Games on your slates.

Completely agree. I tried so many different varations of movies but I think the pricing panel didn't get it right at all this month - it may come back to haunt me but I don't think it's possible to pick a winning slate without both movies on your slate. I priced both movies at $58 so think with the prices picked both are massively undervalued.

It's at the very least the SAFE play. Going to be very little variance in slates.

Yeah, Star Wars is going to be huge, but it's really hard telling how huge during its first two weekends. Nothing ever opens as huge as it does in the summer or November. I keep seeing articles on how it's going to be the biggest opening ever, but $84 M is the highest December has ever gone. But on the other hand they've never really tried opening a Star Wars, big time super hero film, huge YA adaption, Jurassic Park, etc around Christmas. The closest thing is Avatar, but that really wasn't an established brand.

I tried finding another way, and would have preferred a $53/$48 or $51/$51 or something...

Avatar is probably a good comparison, though with the Star Wars brand, backed by Disney, I believe will send its OW closer to $150m. The thing you need to acknowledge though is it's second weekend drop, which going by Avatar, or any movie that opens the week before Christmas, is that their holds are usually incredible. I would be surprised if The Force Awakens hasn't crossed $300m by the end of the year.

Yeah, I remember Avatar's drops. Part of that has to be word of mouth, right? The people on the fence hearing of how big a spectacle it was. I'm pretty sure everyone knows ahead of time how big a spectacle Episode VII is, at least how it is perceived it will be.
