Why? Have you seen any numbers yet? Shryke has set a deadline and we are all following it. We have no further information than anyone else at this time, it's all still just conjecture and estimates based on little more than theatre counts, reviews and tracking. I get the impression Pixels won't do as well as first thought a few weeks ago, but whether it makes $25m, $35m or $45m I have no real idea just yet.

I just got back from Dallas and saw the tracking. Dropped considerably from what I expected. Not to mention, the IMDB rating is awful. I do agree with you, Geez. Midnight should probably be the cutoff. I'm just going with what is within the rules at this time.

I thought the deadline was noon EST?

I made it 5PM Arizona time because that's when I get home from work.

However, if enough people feel that we should move the deadline up, we can do that. 5PM seems okay to me because there are no definitive numbers at that time, only speculation.

There's definitive Thursday night numbers though, like the ones that showed Pixels was underperforming and people reacted to that and dropped it. I just see that as counter-intuitive to the game. By our lock time, new movies have been out for 24 hours already. It was fine in the past because movies didn't start playing until midnight, and then it was only the big tentpoles getting midnight screenings. Now it seems every film opens Thursday night at 8 eastern.

I'd prefer moving it up to noon EST at least if not a hard lock at midnight. At noon EST you'll usually see Thursday preview numbers so you still have a bit of information but by 5pm Arizona time, you usually see some pretty solid projections come out.

I'd rather not see any numbers at all. Game should be about predicting, not read and reacting.

Agreed. I'd be totally fine if we locked it midnight Arizona time (3am EST) on Friday.

5 PM Arizona time is way too late, but obviously I'm going to use every minute I can until it's changed.
