RULES
Waivers is a 48 hour period for drops, date changes, and additions to the waiver wire. Waivers start when a film is posted here, the Division A of full year draft league, or The Latest Date Changes thread and also when a film is dropped by another player.

During this period you can stake your claim for a film on the list, but it is NOT first come, first serve. The highest person on the waiver wire (1 being the highest) that stakes a claim during the 48 hour window gets the film. This in turn, moves them to the back of the line. The first waiver wire is in the reverse order of the first round of the draft.

Anything that passes the 48 hour waiver period is free to be chosen on a first come first serve basis, without losing your waiver position.

You cannot add or drop any film with a release date within 4 weeks (28 days) of the current date.

An example might help Brockster, and anyone else who's confused, understand how this works.

Let's say Warner Bros doesn't want to compete with the Avengers sequel, so they move Mad Max: Fury Road from May to March. That makes it suddenly eligible for our game, and a lot of us would be interested, right?

Let's say Buscemi is the first to hear about it so he makes a claim. Leestu and Shryke are automatically out of the running because they're lower on the list.

Then I come along a few hours later and say, wait a minute, I want Mad Max. Now it's mine and Six and Buscemi are also out of luck.

Finally, Brockster hears about Mad Max moving to March and says "Hold the phone! Mad Max is mine, all mine!" Brock gets the movie, as long as he acts within the first 48 hours, and then he moves to the bottom of the list after his successful claim. He drops whatever film he wants to get rid of for Mad Max, and the film he drops also goes on the waiver wire in case anyone wants it.

If, however, no one makes a claim during the first 48 hours, Mad Max has cleared waivers, just like all the films no one wanted during the draft, and the first person to speak up can grab it without losing their position on the list.

Does that make sense?

What's the sudden interest in both divisions for The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby ? The film won't make a dime at the box-office guys !

The re-edited film is getting strong reviews and Harvey Weinstein has said he's giving it an Oscar push.

And considering the reviews The Search is getting I figure it's at least a better option.

The Deadline article mentions all three versions of the film will be getting released by the Weinsteins. Would picking it up mean all three (presumably) different box office takes will be combined for the purpose of the game?

I don't know, I haven't read a single glowing review of the film, all the ones I have read, both French and American, said it was an ill film, that felt too much edited. Besides it's the story of a relationship with ups and downs by a newcomer , and when you see that Revolutionary Road with DiCaprio and Winslet by Sam Mendes couldn't get more than $22M at the BO, I'm thinking this won't even bring $15M at the very best.

Correct. You are at #1 until you actually make a roster move. And since you're #1, no one can bogart your pick.

Which will be about 14m more than The Search will bring in!

Well in the case of The Search, it surely won't bring in much either, I must agree with you on that one. But I wouldn't have replaced it with Rigby ;)
