I have always thought the 28 day rule worked both ways, for adds and for drops. I don't love it either way, but if it exists one way, it should exist both.

Yep, I remember the rule working both ways, although I do seem to recall it being 21 days instead of 28. I could easily be wrong on that, however.

You already won, Six, so let's end it. I switched it back.

We can talk more about a definitive version of the rule some time. We should totally do a winter meeting with Commissioner Shryke and League President W presiding things (Six would be Director of Player Development, Surfer is the Players' Union leader, I'm still thinking of a position).

The rule's always been in this game, for both adds and drops. Busc, you know this. (Plus The Song was always supposed to be limited. It hasn't had the ad push God's Not Dead/Son of God/Moms Night Out did at the same point in the calendar.)

I have no problem doing away with it all together, but it'd be unfair to change it in the middle of the season. If we do remove it, it'd have to be before next year's draft.

The Song was listed as 750 theatres on the exhibitor-minded FilmJerk (and its distributor had gone wide with the similar Fireproof). And God's Not Dead really isn't comparable with Son of God or Mom's Night Out in that all its marketing was through non-traditional outlets (in fact, I hadn't even heard of it until two weeks before opening while the other two were major studio titles with traditional marketing). Maybe it can pull a Facing the Giants and have a good limited debut.

And no, I did not know this nor did I ever observe it when I handled the Division A waiver wire (I always considered the release date the drop deadline, much like the regular game).

Technically, this is true, but I just looked through last year's Div A wire thread and nobody tried to drop a movie inside of 28 days/4 weeks.

In Div B, Aqua tried, but Six put the kibosh on it.

I guess this has been a rule that has just been observed under six's watch in Division B, while Boushh, looking after Division A last year, was a little lax with it. I'd always been of the opinion that the 28 rule was in effect for dropping movies, and I think I made reference to it last year when I dropped Philomena instead of All Is Lost for The Grand Budapest Hotel. I agree, there should certainly be a universal agreement between both leagues, and in this case it should be that the rule does exist. But as mentioned, this should certainly not be amended during a season, so stick with it for now and come the next league we can discuss it further.

The only draft game in which the 28 day drop rule does not exist I believe is the quarterly game, and in that case I think there is good reason for a little more leeway.

If Unfinished Business is the previously untitled Vince Vaughn movie (and also previously titled Business or Pleasure), I have that one already. You're actually the second person to try to claim it because they can't figure out what to name it. :P

Going to drop Hitman 47 for Black Sea.

Ugh, that's my 5th film to lose its date.
