I'm here. I was in a class and then did some work taking apart a set.
I will select Untitled Lance Armstrong Project. This will now give me what I believe to be the two top Best Actor contenders for next year's Oscars (Eddie Redmayne in Theory of Everything and Ben Foster in this one). Also, Stephen Frears' last one netted me about $30 million in last year's game.

I will take Kitchen Sink so I can have one more with a definite release date.
And then I'll take Knight of Cups. Malick, Bale, Portman. 'Nuff said.
Love to get your opinions on that...

Eddie Redmayne, quite possibly. Ben Foster? Not so sure. Not so sure about a Lance Armstrong biopic at all. The doc certainly didn't fare too well, and it just doesn't feel like the kind of biopic that could break out.
I wanted Whiplash for my final pick, as a limited release that could fare relatively well. Should have known it wouldn't last.

If Knight of Cups was ready it would have been in Cannes. So it feels like it's still in post, and who knows when it will be finished. Could be ready for Telluride and Toronto, could not. It's too much of a question mark for me to pick up.

Since Six didn't post my next pick, I will post it myself.
I will select The Good Lie, the first of three Reese Witherspoon movies this year (the other two being Wild and Inherent Vice).

Definitely like the thought behind Knight of Cups but I decided not to take it earlier because I'm not sure it makes it onto the calendar any time soon. Nothing I was able to read gave me much confidence.Shrykespeare wrote:I will take Kitchen Sink so I can have one more with a definite release date.
