Did six actually make a claim? I don't think he did and he hasn't updated the front page to suggest so. I think it's the right time now, so...
Would like to drop Philomena for Grand Budapest Hotel.

I was certainly under the impression that he'd made a claim, and he had plenty of opportunity to clarify if there'd been a misunderstanding there. I'd be kind of annoyed if he now said that wasn't really a claim, because I would have been here at the deadline, like you, ready to pounce.

As far as I understand, in order to make a claim, you have to first actually claim it, and then actually put forward a film to be dropped. As far as I can tell from his posts, he did neither. He basically just said he would get there first come the deadline.
Re: 2013-2014 Division B Waiver Wire
I'm pretty sure people have made claims before without announcing what movie they'd drop if their claim is successful. And anyway, he was still here when I conceded defeat because he was higher up on the wire and he said nothing, so I took that as confirmation of his claim. I won't make a big stink about it either way, but it would seem kinda fishy if you got the pick.

Re: 2013-2014 Division B Waiver Wire
Likewise, I don't want to make a big deal of it, it's not exactly an essential movie for my slate, but I took from the comments that he posed the question of staking a claim without actually doing so, it seemed like typical Irish humour. If he did indeed mean that as a claim, I will happily back down.
By the way if the deadline ends now instead of an hour ago, as I'm not sure on GMT myself, I resubmit my claim as that deadline has passed too.

You mean I might have missed the deadline twice?! ARGH!
BTW, "fishy" earlier was not the right word to use. I didn't mean to imply any back room collusion. If you wind up getting it this way it'll just seem like disorganization.

If anything, I would think "disorganization" is the most apt word for the year long draft, and pretty much the entirety of the site as a whole too! Though I wouldn't have it any other way, gotta love how inept we all are at organising everything (well, except Shryke, naturally).
Re: 2013-2014 Division B Waiver Wire
I take pride in my disorganisation. Took classes in it in college.
To clarify, I didn't officially claim it, but I was considering it. I was just having difficulty finding which film to drop. Then I forgot about the deadline!

I was born in Budapest. I wanted that movie grr.
Re: 2013-2014 Division B Waiver Wire
Oh well. No biggie. It was only a slight improvement over the film I was planing to drop, especially considering the late release and the way Anderson's films are usually rolled out slowly and contingent on reviews.
Kinda surprised you'd drop Philomena for it. When does that clear waivers?

Just added Philomena onto the waiver wire.

You might regret dropping Philomena. It's been killing on the festival circuit and Dench and Coogan are sure Oscar nominees (Dench could possibly be the favorite for Best Actress).
Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.

I think the 48 hours are up so I'll drop Walk Of Shame for Philomena.
