I'd like to agree with you, but don't we say that every year? In the past year, we had three movies reach $400M (Frozen will likely get there by the end of the weekend). Really, how many films besides Hunger Games have a realistic shot at that milestone? I doubt Transformers has that much juice left, and I can't see anything else with that kind of potential.
In the past 12 months, 37 films released have hit $100M or better. That's a very high number, and though the next 12 months could match or surpass that number, it's by no means a sure thing.

he's talking about 2015, shryke. The last hunger games, avengers 2 and star wars could all easily pass $400M, with other films having a chance as well. Although nothings guaranteed in the film world

I think the resounding silence from Boushh means we will not be starting the draft until after this weekend, which I'm cool with. Fully understandable, its far too tight a division to make a decision that will affect an entire year of the game. Gives me more time to plan ahead too, which is always helpful.Shrykespeare wrote:If everyone (and I mean everyone) were to accept these predictions as concrete, we could conceivably start the draft early, like say Saturday or Sunday. But we'd need to have a consensus or at least an acknowledgement that we are starting early, so that no one is late to the party.

I don't see any reason we couldn't start the draft on sunday, I don't think there's anyone who is actually that close, where the difference between the weekend estimates and actuals would make a difference.

Just needs to be said, how lucky am I for picking Frozen! Holy Crap what a monster! Saved my butt when I made so many other questionable picks. Will lightning strike twice?
Re: 2013-14 Full Year Slates (Division B)
The first year I participated I did horribly, finishing in second to last place after some disastrous picks and horrible luck when Gravity got pushed back by a full year. This time I did a lot better and it looks like I'll finish within $30 million or so of being promoted. I won't have a Hunger Games sequel to rely on this time, but hopefully I'll continue to improve and make it up to Division A next year. Let's get this show on the road!

Are we kicking this off tomorrow or Sunday? I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready.

Do you think we will finish by May 16th? My soon to be wife wants to implement a no phone, no internet policy for the honeymoon.

Hahah, I don't blame her. We usually take no more than 2 weeks to finish, so hopefully you'll be done. Otherwise send out your list to a few people so we can pick on your behalf.Aquamann2001 wrote:Do you think we will finish by May 16th? Congrats, that's great news. I've been married for 20 years and my wife still rolls her eyes at me at draft time so she'll have to get used to it eventuallyAquamann2001 wrote:Do you think we will finish by May 16th?
