Well, all of my TBA hopefuls are gone, and so are all of the wide-release films with set dates. So I'm going to take a stab in the dark and take:

Third Person.

It's currently filming, and it's Paul Haggis, so it'll probably get a wide release. If it doesn't make the calendar in time, I can always drop it for something that materializes later.

I was thinking about The Kings of Summer (which reminds me a lot of Stand by Me but could be overshadowed by The Way, Way Back) and Fruitvale Station (which apparently will go wide in late July according to a film booker that I know) but I figured that I will go for a gamble myself.

Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright, Willem Dafoe and Daniel Bruhl in a film by Anton Corbijn, based on a novel by John le Carre and with perhaps the year's most timely premise.

I have one of empire's last picks but I don't suppose there's any rush to post it considering he's last to pick. He may have decided to change his mind too...

This is the second year in a row that W has taken a film that was canned by the studio (last year he took Late Bloomer, which was canceled by Warner Bros. more than a year earlier and at last report was being reorganized as an indie film with Elijah Wood). They will not be able to fix the script troubles and get everything in place in only eleven months.

Also, I was amazed to see Inherent Vice (a film that was just greenlighted last week) picked. So far, only one actor (Joaquin Phoenix) has been cast and Paul Thomas Anderson likes to take his time on projects. Also, it's a period film so this project will not be ready in eleven months.

I read that they were clearing up whether it would be R or PG13 before filming. I doubt it'll be out until summer, but I think it'll get made and has a chance to be a spring release like American Pie was last year.

I won't believe it until we get an official word on filming starting and some production photos. Warner Bros. has been talking about remaking Vacation for a long time now (just like Wonder Woman, the It remake, the Logan's Run remake and god knows what else) but it continues to stall.

By the way, I've made a tentative waiver list. Whoever wants a look at it can add their own titles. And once again, the 28 day rule is in effect (which is too bad as I believe The Kings of Summer could have helped someone in trouble).
