I think the special shoot trailer was released too soon for it. Had it been released around Christmastime instead of May (where Paramount could have included it with four films instead of just one*), I think the film would have a lot more buzz. Instead the trailer came out, had a little buzz and died by the time the film actually started production.

Well well well... Last year I failed with my 2nd pick, grabbing that awful Tim Burton movie while there were better options, so this year, I hope I won't make the same mistake. I'm really surprised by the two picks Tranny made and was ready to pick something elseas my 2nd film since I thought he'd pick something else, but now I have a couple of options more...
and I'll take The Hangover III.
It sure won't do as much as the other two, but it still has a shot at $200M, and that's enough for a 2nd round pick.

I see it being much better than part 2. The trailer looks great and I'd take it head to head against FF6, though most others won't.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

I could go a couple of ways....but I'll play it relatively safe and take Captain America: Winter Soldier.

That one is riskier that you think. The directors have never done an action film before, which could lead to production delays and a possible date change to May.

Remember last year when we tried to stop people from discussing the prospects of potential future picks? Well now we have two divisions and one's running a little behind the other, so a lot of the films that have already been picked in Division A are still on the table in Division B. It might be a good idea to save the analysis until the drafts are over.

The only Marvel film that has changed a date was Thor 2, and that was due to Patty Jenkins walking away from the job right before filming was to start. Plus, there's little room to wiggle the date if they want to get Cap 2 in before Guardians of The Galaxy.

With the new directors, and their background in comedy, hopefully it'll make Captain America a little more lively and have better WOM.

And is the ban on discussing later films on this year? Last year, I think we decided it didn't matter, if I remember.

I don't know, Banks. Iron Man 2 was written by a comedy writer and we all know how that turned out.

Also, I'd be surprised to see Guardians of the Galaxy hit $100 million. Outside of Zoe Saldana, the cast is mostly unproven and James Gunn's highest grossing film (Slither) made less than $8 million (of course, Slither was badly handled by the distributor but that's beside the point). Also, has anyone outside of Marvel fanatics even heard of the comic book?

I had never even heard of Guardians of the Galaxy before Hollywood launched the adaptation...
(but hey, at the same time, I had barely heard of Iron Man too, back then...)

Not much movement since I went to bed. I'll be out of commission until 4 P.M. CST. Not leaving picks, but I'll be on after 4 O'clock. Should be fine.

Is this 12 hour time limit in effect now? It is Monday. If so I suspect you may get to pick ahead of UDM as it's his birthday today.

If people don't want to see "analysis" on what hasn't been taken, then don't look on the other draft board. We shouldn't mute ourselves, talking about the picks is 75% of the fun of this event.
