Re: 2012-13 Full Year Sign-Up Sheet
Okay, guys, I'm preparing to do the "random draw" that will determine the draft order from spots #3-#14.
I've made an executive decision to do it not unlike the NBA's draft lottery, wherein each team gets a certain number of colored balls to put in the drawing... the team that just barely missed the playoffs getting the fewest, and the cellar-dweller getting the most. Here's what I've come up with.
1) Because the middle twelve spots will consist of six returning players and six new players, I am going to alternate, going returning, new, returning, new, etc.
2) Since Buscemi came in 3rd, he will get three "balls" in the draw; ozzy gets four, six gets five, surfer gets six, Chien gets seven, and UDM gets eight. Since I don't have "balls", I will use Scrabble tiles, with each player being assigned a different letter of the alphabet.
3) After I have determined the draft order for the six returning players, I will determine the order for the six new players. Because all of them are new, they will get the same number of tiles in the bag (two each).
Draft results to follow shortly.

Re: 2012-13 Full Year Sign-Up Sheet
Whoa i go away for a couple of days and come back to all this :S
Glad that it looks to all have been resolved but for future reference, if people have suggestions for bettering the game maybe they should of submitted them WAY before the start of a new season. Im not sure who actually oversees the rules of the game, I'm thinking it is W, but maybe he should be in charge of the rules.
If people are still not satisfied, then maybe we should start a half-yearly draft to trial new strategies??

Re: 2012-13 Full Year Sign-Up Sheet
ozzy was undoubtedly the big winner here, despite looking good for fourth this year to be drafting 3rd for the new draft is impressive. I pretty much expected to be between 7 and 9th so I'm okay with my placing, though I would have preferred to be top 6 as that is where I think the line can be draw for potential 300m+ movies are, so hopefully I can make the most of finding some movies which exceed expectations.
Re: 2012-13 Full Year Sign-Up Sheet
I'd like to state now that I am entirely opposed to this random draft order, and think it should be based on order of performance in the last league.
I can't think of why I didn't state this earlier....

Re: 2012-13 Full Year Sign-Up Sheet
I actually thought it was just going to be the new players who were randomised, but to be honest I don't really care. I'm just happy the draft is now ready to begin.

I too thought only new players would be randomized.

Re: 2012-13 Full Year Sign-Up Sheet
Whens the draft and how exactly is it going to work?
Re: 2012-13 Full Year Sign-Up Sheet
i don't mind being randomized at the end of the draft as a penalty for being a newcomer. i'm just happy to be here. i did notice that it took the better part of 2 weeks (13 days) to complete the draft with 11 players last year. there will be 16 this year, so are we okay with the timetable as it is now-last i read April 25?
Re: 2012-13 Full Year Sign-Up Sheet
oh, i guess it doesn't matter. someone will have the avengers right away and then we have until the 11th to complete it, so...oops.

Haha, English may not be my natural language but I did understand that all players except the first and last 2 of this ending season would be randomized, as I was crossing my fingers I wouldn't end up in the bottom...

I'd say I drew well for three ping-pong balls.
