If those numbers are confirmed by the actual numbers, this is truly amazing. And even if the numbers don't hold, it has been an amazing finish. Well done lads

I feel like breaking down and hugging the (proverbial) trophy.
I'd like to say congrats though to W. who played pretty much a perfect season. But The Hunger Games!!! Grossing more than any Twilight or Harry Potter film was definitely not foreseen by me, or anyone in the world!
P.S. - I'm almost certain this is the first non-Bankrupts League I've ever won!

Re: 2011-12 Full Year Slates
I'd say this one's just as fitting (or would this one be for Surfer, since it will probably take him 21 years to win one of these).

A stunning game, Banks. Well done. Great last round picks. I'd say well deserved but I think W needs so much kudos for creating such an awesome slate, picking films none of us saw the true potential in.

Re: 2011-12 Full Year Slates
Congrats to both of you. And I think it must be stated that this wasn't just luck from banks. So much emphasis has been placed on The Hunger Games, but he still brought in quite a lot of money even without that pick. A good slate all round, albeit certainly benefited by The Hunger Games.

Thanks a lot. It would have been hilarious if it were a tie.

Re: 2011-12 Full Year Slates
Time for some analysis...
Firstly... me
The biggest mistake of my slate was Happy Feet 2. It made almost $100m less than I expected. Last summer sent warning signals but I was surprised at how poorly it fared. And to think I took this intead of Hunger Games and Rise of the Planet of the Apes! I also made the mistake of dropping 50/50 (I got scared about its subject matter and thought it might open limited and fail to expand) for the Glee Movie. 3D concert movies are a strange, erratic subgenre, and I'm keeping the hell away from them.
I was pleased to pick The Help. I had a feeling it would surprise. I also knew The Descendents would be an Awards film and have great legs. I'd no idea The Devil Inside would do so well, but I wasn't complaining. I probably took The Muppets too early, but it was a solid performer. The same for War Horse, though I hoped it would hit $100m. Something Borrowed performed as expected, as did Twilight 3. I was annoyed that Wimpy Kid 3 moved to August, and had high hopes for Pirates.
So lessons learned? Well, I don't trust kids animations as much, I now fear concert movies, and I'm on the eye out for award films.
As for other picks, major props to Banks for picking Hunger Games and The Vow, W for picking Bridesmaids, Chronicle and Apes 2 (I thought your slate was the weakest!), Boosch for getting Dolphin Tale, and SS for Think Like a Man. All inspired (and lucky!)

Re: 2011-12 Full Year Slates
Well, on my part, I'd say that my biggest mistake was a lack of inspiration passed the 6th round. Most of the picks I made after that one were either turds or simply skipped from the schedule (or just didn't appear). I have had to make four changes because my films were rescheduled or never appeared on the release schedule. So this season, I intend to choose more carefully the fimls I will pick in the last rounds, because I have learned how crucial they are. I really thought I had a shot at the podium til the beginning of 2012 arrived and all my slate was falling apart.
Otherwise I was a bit disappointed by Cowboys & Aliens' numbers, although it did manage to crack 100 million. And my best instinct was to grab The Artist a few weeks before its release, earning me almost $45 million, more than any film I grabbed after the 6th round of the draft.
I remember thinking back then that Surfer's slate looked the best, and in the end, he did better than I did

Re: 2011-12 Full Year Slates
I was very happy with my slate when I first picked it, I though there were a number of movies which could really break out. But in hindisght I took too many gambles, and I have rendered that this year. Too many movies which were potential only rather than safe, and that killed me essentially. Even with HP7 on my slate, if you take Oscar movies like Young Adult, The Iron Lady and Extremely Loud which absolutely NEEDED to go wide to prove worthy, then I guess your in trouble. And taking The Iron Lady so early was foolish too. Hopefully, I'll learn from my mistakes.
