Of course it should be on the 48 hour waiver wire. If a film going from TBA to having a release date isn't enough to put it on the waiver wire there's no point in even having a waiver wire.

To be honest, I've never really liked the concept of the waiver wire. I believe pickups should be a "first come, first serve" thing.
Also, I hate it when people waste an entire post by simply saying "THIS". It's just as bad (if not worse) than going on a blog or YouTube and posting "first" on a link.

We're sorry that we can't all spend 23 hours of the day on the internet. Some of us have lives.

Look, not everyone is going to hoard picks to get an upper hand (and from what I remember last year, you tried to do this until Shryke stopped you which makes you no sacred cow). In the exchange of goods and services, it's not always an auction. You have an item, you put a set price and the first person to pick it up gets it. So why can't it be like that here?

I like the waiver wire, it keeps everything equal. Imagine a movie became available that you missed out on simply because you were in the wrong time zone. The fairer the competition the better.

Yeah, funny how it is hard to make understand how the time zone is important, and how some of us are asleep when release dates are announced.

Re: 2013-14 Division A Waiver Wire
It's a very simple case of what's fair and what is not. Do you think it's fair if someone goes on holidays for 2 weeks and a few blockbusters are announced and picked up? And to use your exchange of goods and services comparison, let's not forget that in almost all cases the good or service has multiple versions unlike here. You're trying to argue against the waiver wire to benefit yourself, as you're on here more often than anyone else and so it benefits you not to have one. Try to think of others for once.Buscemi wrote:Look, not everyone is going to hoard picks to get an upper hand (and from what I remember last year, you tried to do this until Shryke stopped you which makes you no sacred cow). I don't view it like that. I simply view it as, "If you want it and ask, it's yours".

Re: 2013-14 Division A Waiver Wire
What if two people "want it and ask"? What if one drafted first and one drafted last? How is it decided? Based on who asked first even if it's a matter of seconds? What if one person really wants it and their net connection is down, allowing for another to pick it up first?

The first person who asked gets it. That might sound kind of capitalistic but I simply don't understand how something can go from free to restricted and free again in a week's span.

Yeah, sorry Busc, but the waiver wire is the fairest way to handle new dates and the like.

Well, that's your problem. Everyone else here gets it and agreed to it a long, long time ago.Buscemi wrote:I simply don't understand how something can go from free to restricted and free again in a week's span.
