When in January did The Oxnard Tapes get scheduled (and just to let you know, it and Paranormal Activity 5 are not the same film)?

Paranormal Activity 5 probably isn't the movie that got pushed to January, more than likely The Oxnard Tapes got dated there and PA5 is still up in the air.

In a interview I read with Jason Blum back in June, Paranormal Activity 5 has had trouble finding a director. Meanwhile, The Oxnard Tapes (which Blum praised for having a story other than "Katie's ghost haunts people") was filming and going smoothly.

More than anything, I believe studio politics and racism are the reasons why The Oxnard Tapes hasn't been scheduled. Paramount seems to believe that a film without the Paranormal Activity name or a white lead means automatic failure (which is sadly the thinking at other studios too, as they seem to believe it is still the 1980's).

Well, that just lends more credence that it is indeed Oxnard that's coming out in January, and not PA5.

Do you think they'll name it Paranormal Activity: The Oxnard Tapes?

I imagine some countries will call it Paranormal Activity: The Oxnard Tapes but I expect Paramount to keep the original name in the US.

Meanwhile, it's Paramount's say and not Blumhouse on which one opens first. As happy as Blum is with The Oxnard Tapes, I still think Paramount will want the brand name.

Based on nothing at all, I'd like to drop The Amityville Horror and pick up Echo, which was just added to BOM's roster.

Never heard of that one before.

I just found out about it today. It was a film produced by Disney (possibly for television) but they sold it to Relativity a few days ago.

Busc, you should probably post when a new film gets added to the wire so we have a timestamp to judge exactly when the 2 day window is up.

I want to see Diablo Cody's directorial debut personally, but for game purposes, Julianne Hough and the no name distributor kills its chances.

The film had been on the list for a while (so I didn't think to put a time stamp). It only got a date yesterday.

Meanwhile, I was actually convinced Paradise would go straight-to-DVD. Cody's time as "the hot new screenwriter" ended when Jennifer's Body came out (though Evil Dead made money, she was simply brought in for later drafts) and Image basically picks up titles for their home releases anyway.

The waiver wire needs updating also. Banks used his position to get Bad Grandpa.

I'm dropping Foxcatcher (which I've read is being saved for late 2014) to take Enough Said.

And I will be dropping Winter's Tale (which at this point is looking like it will never get a date, the book's fans not being big on the project doesn't help) to take Parkland (which because Open Road is distributing and will release in December assures a wide run).

Since I found out that Parkland changed distributors (from Open Road to the new Exclusive Releasing) and will open in an undesirable September slot, I will drop it to take Oculus.

I would like to drop Paranormal Activity 5 and pick up How I Live Now.
