Re: 2024-25 Full Year Slates
Standings (up until 3/2)
We are entering the last two months of competition, gentlemen. Less than $19M separate Six, Walleye and Spectre at 3, 4 and 5, although with three films on the horizon, including Snow White, Six should soon solidify his third place. I’m also in the 800M range, but I’ll need The Amateur and The King of Kings to do very strong numbers to get closer to that bunch.
1. Banks - $1,183,103,812 (2 films - Captain America, Moana 2)
2. Screen - $985,544828 (4 films - Dog Man, Companion, A Complete Unknown, Sonic 3)
3. Six - $893,001,419 (2 films - Flight Risk, Anora)
4. Walleye - $889,317,320 (2 films - Paddington in Peru, Led Zeppelin)
5. Spectre - $874,757,875 (4 films - Last Breath, The Monkey, Mufasa, Wicked)
6. Chien - $819,420,467 (3 films - Heart Eyes, The Brutalist, Conclave)
7. Tranny - $603,515,746 (2 films - Love Hurts, One of Them Days)
8. UDM - $383,043,331 (no film in theaters)
9. Ron - $327,009,096 (no film in theaters)
The following films appear to be done:
Babygirl (Tranny, WW) = $28,123,472
3/7
Mickey 17 (UDM, 4th round)
3/14
Novocaine (Walleye, 6th round)
Black Bag (Six, WW)
The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie (Six, WW)
3/21
Snow White (Six, 2nd round)
Alto Knights (Spectre, WW)
3/28
A Working Man (Tranny, 8th round)
The Woman in the Yard (Walleye, WW)
Death of a Unicorn (Banks, WW)

5 million dollars. That’s how much money separates Six in 3rd place and Spectre in 5th place. Less than $200,000 stands between Walleye and Six. Now that’s a close competition. Screen, in 2nd, is on the verge of crossing the billion bar, and certainly will in three weeks thanks to Minecraft.
1. Banks - $1,196,543,481 (2 films - Captain America, Moana 2)
2. Screen - $991,271,568 (4 films - Dog Man, Companion, A Complete Unknown, Sonic 3)

8. UDM - $402,046,183 (1 film - Mickey 17)

Re: 2024-25 Full Year Slates
I've got no read on Snow White anymore. I figured it wouldn't be a monster like Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, but it's not really going to tank is it? I kind of want it to do well just because I'm so tired of the pre-hate. I know, it's not an original idea, been there done that, blah blah blah, but all the pre-hate for movies nowadays is exhausting. Maybe let a movie just be a movie and see if it's good?
Re: 2024-25 Full Year Slates
I don't either. Disney downplayed the ad campaign due to a lot of that but I feel it might end up doing fine as most of the family-friendly things so far this year have played well.
But I think Lilo and Stitch will be even bigger. First time I saw that trailer before a movie, the kids in the audience went wild.

Re: 2024-25 Full Year Slates
Lilo and Stitch is definitely going to be a hit.

Walleye leaves Six behind for 1 million dollars, but only for a week, Snow White will push our favorite Irish forward from next weekend on. Six is also the number of weekends remaining in this year’s competition. The only true question mark that is left is which will end up third between Six and Walleye, but my money’s on Six. Unless Screen manages to catch Banks before the end of April, if Minecraft turns out huge ?
1. Banks - $1,206,003,156 (2 films - Captain America, Moana 2)

Re: 2024-25 Full Year Slates
Standings (up until 3/23)
Six jumps ahead of Walleye thanks to disappointing Snow White, but will he keep his advance until the end? The suspense is still on. Screen still hasn’t passed the billion dollar bar, but with Minecraft and Accountant 2, will he be able to reach Banks? Those are the only question marks remaining, as there is little doubt that the actual 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will remain the same til the end of April. Five weekends remain in the season.
1. Banks - $1,212,541,052 (2 films - Captain America, Moana 2)
2. Screen - $998,969,297 (3 films - Dog Man, A Complete Unknown, Sonic 3)
3. Six - $961,168,537 (4 films - Snow White, Black Bag, The Day the Earth Blew Up, Anora)
4. Walleye - $918,593,206 (3 films - Novocaine, Paddington in Peru, Led Zeppelin)
5. Spectre - $909,521,087 (4 films - Alto Knights, Last Breath, The Monkey, Mufasa)
6. Chien - $821,663,029 (1 film - Heart Eyes)

Re: 2024-25 Full Year Slates
You didn't put me ahead of Walleye on the listing, Chien. This is very important for my fragile ego!
I think 3rd is the best I can hope for, and if Sinners blows up I'll end up 4th.
I guess we should start thinking about the next season. Hopefully everyone will be in for next year. Looks like the line-up of films will be much stronger too.

Re: 2024-25 Full Year Slates
I'm definitely ready for next season - still hoping I can squeak onto the podium before this one is done, however.
Are we game to try the Oscar Nom bonus this next year? I think that makes the later rounds much more interesting. I would say a Nom in any category is worth 5million except Best picture which is worth 10million. Just my two cents at least.

Yeah. The majority of the group was onboard with it when you first proposed it a little while back (if I remember correctly, I was the only one who opposed it) and the start of the upcoming season was the targeted implementation date.

Aquaman was interested in joining us this season, so if everyone comes back, we'll be 10 players this season.

So if we say 5 million, that would be 5 million per nom, right ?Walleye413 wrote: ↑March 26th, 2025, 6:08 pmAre we game to try the Oscar Nom bonus this next year? I’m excited to be back. I forgot when does the year begin and end? Is it May to May?
