This is really going to be an interesting end of the season.

On a different note, you will never guess which American film is the biggest at the French box-office since the beginning of the year, not counting Avatar. It is........... Babylon.

Leave it to the French to be the only ones in the world to appreciate true cinema when they see it.

Chazelle's name probably still has some weight in Europe. In the US, those who didn't get on the First Man hate train abandoned him after this one.

Creed III is about to do better, but Ant-Man is still behind it.
Chazelle's resume definitely has some weight, and the subject, solid reviews and WOM did the rest.

STANDINGS (up until March 12 included)
Walleye, and not far behind him Shryke, keeps getting closer to Spectre and his 5th spot. With Crunchyroll seemingly not reporting Demon Slayer’s numbers since its weekend opening, I couldn’t get back dollars from Six with only Champions’s opening numbers. Next week, Tranny will start his climbing back, but everything indicates Shazam won’t get very high.

1. Six - $1,069,415,183 (4 films - Operation Fortune, Cocaine Bear, Avatar 2, The Banshees of Inisherin)
2. Chien - $908,531,072 (2 films - Champions, The Whale)
3. Screen - $864,778,809 (3 films - Magic Mike, M3GAN, Puss in Boots : The Last Wish)
4. Tranny - $739,740,080 (1 film - Black Panther : Wakanda Forever)
5. Spectre - $721,588,901 (1 films - Missing)
6. Walleye - $696,193,442 (2 films - Scream VI, Jesus Revolution)
7. Shryke - $664,637,708 (3 films - Creed III, Violent Night, The Fabelmans)
8. Buscemi - $416,487,860 (5 films - Ant-Man, 80 for Brady, A Man Called Otto, Women Talking, Tar)
9. Ron B - $266,475,221 (2 films - 65, Knock at the Cabin)

3/17
Shazam! Fury of the Gods (Tranny, 2nd round)

3/24
John Wick 4 (Ron, 2nd round)
A Good Person (Spectre, WW)
The Lost King (Shryke, WW)

3/31
Dungeons & Dragons (Chien, 4th round)
A Thousand and One (Tranny, WW)

4/7
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Tranny, 3rd round)
AIR (Chien, WW)

It depends how long it takes to go to 300. If it does 300 in its first 4 week, possibly If it's on the long run, but actually only does 250 in April, it might not be enough if Shazam doesn't go high, as the Game closes on the last sunday of April.

5th place. Totally middle of the road. Seems about right for me this year. Guessed right on a few. Very, very wrong on a few others. Strange World as a second round pick? Brutal.

Strange World definitely is the film that "condemned" your possibility to go higher, because otherwise the rest is pretty solid.

STANDINGS (up until March 26 included)
Only 5 weekends to go ! John Wick broke the box-office, but Ron was far down the rankings and still sits in the last spot for now. But he will reach Boosch fast. From Tranny in 4th to Shryke in 7th, four players are in the $700M range this week. This coming weekend, I’ll cross my fingers for a D&D hit.

1. Six - $1,085,568,097 (2 films - Cocaine Bear, Avatar 2)
2. Chien - $917,295,028 (2 films - Champions, The Whale)
3. Screen - $869,237,367 (1 film - Puss in Boots : The Last Wish)
4. Tranny - $785,689,422 (1 film - Shazam!)
5. Walleye - $751,162,350 (2 films - Scream VI, Jesus Revolution)

7. Shryke - $704,643,254 (3 films - The Lost King, Creed III, Violent Night)
8. Buscemi - $428,887,919 (2 films - Ant-Man, A Man Called Otto)
9. Ron B - $355,784,137 (2 films - John Wick, 65)

The following films appear to be done :
Operation Fortune : Ruse de Guerre (Six, WW) = $6,496,125
Magic Mike’s Last Dance (Screen, WW) = $26,005,156
80 for Brady (Buscemi, WW) = $39,330,588

I think DnD is going to make a lot of money. But is it going to make 170 million? Sadly - I'm not so sure on that.

It's gonna tough for me to reach Six. Damn, I hope it's not gonna be a less than $10M difference. I wish Crunchyroll had reported the BO for Demon Slayer beyond the opening weekend. I could have grabbed a few more millions there.
But I don't need D&D to make 170M in its first 5 weekends. I have another 3 films opening in the next 3 weekends, AIR, Suzume and The Covenant. So if those three manage to bank some cash, it will help me.

STANDINGS (up until April 2 included)
And then, there were only four weeks left. This is the final month, gentlemen, of our 12-month quest. Tranny spends his last week outside the Top 3. I’m getting the most advance I can ahead of him before Mario arrives, and at the same time get a little closer to Six. Six is still $133M ahead of me, and I’ll need every penny of D&D, AIR, Suzume and The Covenant. Tranny will only needs Mario to be as big as everyone thinks it can be, but in the end, he won’t win without an almost $300M home-run from the plumber. This is gonna be an incredible final stretch. At the bottom, Ron is closing in on Boosch, but the latter has two more films to open.

1. Six - $1,088,658,697 (2 films - Cocaine Bear, Avatar 2)
2. Chien - $955,956,390 (3 films - Dungeons & Dragons, Champions, The Whale)
3. Screen - $870,090,947 (1 film - Puss in Boots : The Last Wish)
4. Tranny - $795,015,685 (2 films - A Thousand and One, Shazam!)
5. Walleye - $761,541,342 (2 films - Scream VI, Jesus Revolution)
6. Spectre - $723,468,131 (2 films - A Good Person, Missing)
7. Shryke - $712,757,907 (3 films - The Lost King, Creed III, Violent Night)
8. Buscemi - $431,108,603 (2 films - Ant-Man, A Man Called Otto)
9. Ron B - $407,778,956 (2 films - John Wick, 65)

The following film appears to be done :
Missing (Spectre, WW) = $32,502,025

4/7
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Tranny, 3rd round)
AIR (Chien, WW)

4/14
The Pope’s Exorcist (Walleye, WW)
Renfield (Spectre, 9th round)
Suzume (Chien, WW)

4/21
Evil Dead Rises (Buscemi, WW)
The Covenant (Chien, WW)
Beau is Afraid (Six, WW)

4/28
Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret (Walleye, 5th round)
Big George Foreman (Buscemi, 9th round)

Okay, I'm calling it, Tranny has won, what an opening for Mario, nearly 200m in its first 5 days. Incredible!
