Rules:
Waivers is a 48 hour period for drops, date changes, and additions to the waiver wire. Waivers start when a film is posted here, The Latest Date Changes thread, and also when a film is dropped by another player.

During this period you can stake your claim for a film on the list, but it is NOT first come, first serve. The highest person on the waiver wire (1 being the highest) that stakes a claim during the 48 hour window gets the film. This in turn, moves them to the bottom of the wire. The first waiver wire is in the reverse order of the first round of the draft.

Anything that passes the 48 hour waiver period is free to be chosen without losing your waiver position

You cannot add or drop any film with a release date within 2 weeks (14 days) of the current date. This rule is only in effect until 1/1/2023.

No problem pal. And thanks for the tip on Empire of Light. Didn't realize that was done filming already.

Well done Tranny, that's one exaustive list.
From my list, the only film I would add, filming completed and distrib attached, is Dreamin' Wild, from Focus Features.

I could see Empire of Light getting moved to next awards season. It might be too film-centric for a mainstream audience.

Meanwhile, I could see some those listed ending up on streaming or day-and-date with no reported box office, such as Red, White and Water (shot three years ago but remains on the shelf), Flamin' Hot (Disney has dumped some of their smaller true story movies onto Disney+, they might do the same by sending a Searchlight title with similar themes on Hulu), and Clerks III (was anyone asking for this?).

As for titles to add:

- Akuma, Deon Taylor's other finished horror film, was supposedly scheduled for an October wide date but was removed from the schedule.

- IFC recently scheduled Resurrection for an August 5th date

And 892 opens on August 26th.

-Akuma seems to be set up at Screen Media, which would make it a definite day-and-date with no reported box situation.

-I treated Resurrection like the rest of the IFC day-and-date titles and purposely excluded it.

-892's August 26th date hasn't been confirmed by Bleecker Street, so I'm going to leave it as undated for the moment.

-I'm well aware that some of the Searchlight titles could end up on Hulu and A24 titles will get the Showtime day-and-date treatment, but until that information is confirmed, putting all of their titles that don't have a firm distribution plan here seems like the right move.

-Dreamin' Wild and another trio of A24 titles (Tuesday, Pearl, The Inspection) have been added to the wire.

Metacritic listed the 892 date and they usually seem to accurate with release dates.

And I believe a few Screen Media titles have gone theatrical-only lately (Street Gang, for example, as HBO Max had exclusive streaming rights). Not sure if this will be the beginning of a trend but as Deon Taylor has been trying to start his own distribution label, he might use Screen Media as a distributor-for-hire.

And as IFC is apparently going to be opening Watcher wide or at least semi-wide, they might do the same with Resurrection. And it would make more sense with Resurrection than with Watcher as Rebecca Hall's had more recent success than Maika Monroe.
