This is W. If you have "secret" bids to send in, PM them here. I will not log back in and check this until after bidding closes at 8 PM EST, 5 PM Pacific Friday.

People weren't happy with the system because not everyone can always be on the boards when the auction ends to one up everyone else. So we decided to have a system where you can send your bids in at any time. You put in your max bid and it goes to whoever bids the highest. The highest blind bid get it for $1 more than the second place person, so if the number two person bids $35 blind and you bid $50 blind, you'll get it for $36. I set up that account earlier specifically for the bids to go to.

I think the only reason bidding here is better is if you want to ensure something doesn't go low.

Remember, $500 budget for the year, 40 film slate. Winning a November or December film here doesn't mean you can't win it again next time.

I don't see a reason at this point. You have to fill an average of four spots a season for ten seasons. It doesn't matter when you do that. Get twelve this time and zero next season. You can go heavy in the dead months thinking people will leave them alone, or decide not to touch January with a ten foot pole.

maybe could split the year up in halves for caps. so people have to bid on some part of the first half. rather than wait til then end and knowing everyone is spent just bid low on every reward film

would also be good to reach a halfway point if we need to reassess any possible rules

Yes, of course. Anything that isn't working would be open for change pretty much at any time.

As of now, I'm thinking maybe a limit on how many of the blind bids you can put in per season so that the regular auction means something.

Also possibly the ability to blind bid anything unowned the week before release, so if Kevin Hart: What Now? is not gotten, you can blind bid it up to the time it locks in normal leagues. That would help especially later on when you're trying to fill your slate out.

Also, after everything closes should I make all the blind bids public or should I just say what the highest one was?

You have less than four hours to get bids in. PM all blind bids to ultbid. I will check them and post all results later tonight or tomorrow morning. Hopefully more people sent them in than posted in this thread.
