Just showing you how things will go for (what I envision to be) the full year ultimate league. Each month we will have a thread like this where people will bid on films for their slate. This is to show you how things will work and the stats will be erased at the beginning of the real start date. Second post has the draftable films.

-Auction draft.
-Starts now. Ends at exactly 8 PM EST, 5 PM PST, 12 PM GMT Friday (technically Saturday for GMT).
-$500 budget for the year
-40 film slate for the year
-Must fill your slate by the end of the year, so you must have at least $1 per spot left over.
-Can draft as many/few films in a season as you like.
-Each film can be drafted once per season. And you can draft the same film in multiple seasons since everyone has a chance at each.
-Scoring will be like normal, but a running total to be added up at the end of the year, not the end of the season, for all four categories. You're not looking to win a season, but a whole year.

So I'm putting in a bid of:
$10 Dr. Strange
$10 Magnificent 7
$8 Fantastic Beasts

And it will be reflected in the second post. So if you want those, you will have to top those bids. Or you can bid on anything else.

No, Friday when the first movie releases. This is just a practice run to show everyone how it'll work. The real first one will be the first week of October. That way we can end with the filth of Late August/September and get the biggest part of the summer completely in.

I was gonna ask if this really starts now. I've got my answer.

Makes sense. So, let's talk Moana. In this scenario, I don't want to bid too much on it since I'll only get it for a week. And if I wait until the next round I can get it for multiple months, right?

Yes, but you're able to draft it both months unless people have a problem with that. I think it's fair because everyone gets a crack at it every time and I can see a scenario where things don't get bid up as much of the person that gets it for a week thinks the highest of it.

I think of Moana as three separate entities: 1. A few days of Moana, 2. A month and a few days of Moana, and 3. Two months and a few days of Moana. You think that makes sense?

This format seems a little complicated.

It would be ideal to bid on the entire years worth of films, But we all know how long that could take.

Because I'm confused about bidding on only 3 months of movies, but having a glut of $$$ in the bank

The budget is for the whole year. It's exactly half of the budget you'd get if you played ten leagues (which equals a year). I don't think we can bid on an entire year's worth of movies because it's hard to know what will be included in the leagues until the pricing schemes are released. For Box Office you know if they're release you'll be able to find that number. But what about PTA? When is the IMDb locked in? I wanted to do it this way because can look at the "Speare's Tips" pages and know these numbers.

We could only bid on September movies in September, etc. And get them for that three month window... Or not. I also like this because more than one person gets the films that will typically dominate a year (Star Wars, Hunger Games, etc). That should be solved by the bidding in the first place.

I can change whatever for October if we get a consensus. That's part of the reason for this thread.
