Well, i know this is a test run, but im a little frustrated with some of the rules.

I understand that i wasnt present when the deadline was closing, and now im left with 1 film.

I think we should place a limit on the amount of bids you can do, whether that is for only the final 48 hours or the entire bidding run. Otherwise, it will always be a case of timing, slightly unfair, seeing as we live around the world and may been busy during these crucial final hours.

Or is there any other suggestions?

Yeah, the big drawback with this is it'd kind of like eBay. If you're the lucky one who can wait and bid at the very last moment you can get your movie. Not sure as to a solution though, I'll have to think on that one.

Maybe a blind bid is the answer? Maybe you can PM a bid that won't be looked at until everything closes. And it'd work like an eBay bid where you only bid an increment (aka $1) over the highest like eBay? So if it ends at $47 and you put it in blind for $50, you'd get it for $48. But if someone else puts another in for $60 blind, they get it for $51.

I think this will work.

Sure you could do live bids and then go blind for the last 12 hours. That way there's some idea what to bid on.

I was thinking both. It really won't matter either way.

The other idea I had was to randomize the end time each month so some months it's end at midnight and some it'd end at 3 AM, others noon.

I like the idea of a secret vote in the day leading up to the deadline. Will be fun to see who's willing to go high enough.

You can send a secret ballot with the rules stated before, if the second highest bidder bids 50 and you bid 60, your price is $51. Ties go to the person that put the bid in first. I'll make a new "member" we can all PM.

I don't see anything wrong with keeping bidding open until closing time though you might as well just send in a "secret" bid.

What if two people secretly bid the same amount for the same film? Is it up to the one who sent in the bid first?

Yep. Ties go to the first person to submit that price.
