June-August Drafting Thread (Division A)

Post by silversurfer19 »

I guess it's easy enough for me to start the drafting thread as I'm first pick, so let's get it on. Here is the decided drafting order for this season:

1. surfer, $100/8
2. Shryke, $90/8
3. W, $100/8
4. Buscemi, $100/8
5. Banks, $100/8

Since there are only five players and a huge number of movies to choose from, a full rack of eight films apiece will be chosen.

After my post, Shryke has 12 hours to make his first selection. All selections after that must be made 12 hours or less after the previous one. Failure to pick in that time will result in your pick being skipped until such time as your pick is recorded.

If you can't log in and place it, you may e-mail or PM me a choice and I will place it for you. Failing that, you may send me a "draft order" and I will simply pick for you the highest-ranked film on your list that has not been chosen.

Round 1:
1. surfer - The Dark Knight Rises, $50
2. Shryke - The Amazing Spider-Man, $34
3. W - Prometheus, $24
4. Buscemi - Brave, $29
5. Banks - Snow White and the Huntsman, $19

11. surfer - To Rome With Love, $6
12. Shryke - G.I. Joe: Retaliation (replaced with Savages, $10)
13. W - Ted, $14
14. Buscemi - That's My Boy, $15
15. Banks - Hope Springs, $14

Round 4:
16. Banks - The Expendables 2, $17
17. Buscemi - Katy Perry: Part of Me 3-D, $9

It probably won't be an issue for anyone but surfer, but I just finished the pricing schemes for June-August, and I thought I'd better include them just in case anyone's roster threatens to go over $100 total. Obviously, that can't happen.

I have created a similar thread for the B division.

I will take The Amazing Spider-Man.

Going a with my gut and grabbing Prometheus. I almost went somewhere else, though.

Yikes, $51 of my budget gone on one film. Still worth it, but have to plan the rest of my picks well...

Wow, 62 movies in this three-month season. There certainly won't be any shortage of films to choose from if one of our picks flies south for the winter (or becomes undesirable due to theater count, etc.).

FYI, It is past the twelve hour limit, but it is the first (and second) round, so I think a little more time should be permitted. Technically, Buscemi could go though.

Had no idea this was happening, I wouldn't have even got on today if not for Shryke's email.

I'll take Snow White & The Huntsman and Madagascar 3.

Jas sent in his pricing scheme to me today (I told everyone that it should be done by today), and so, having factored in his numbers, a handful of movies have had their prices changed, including TDKR, TASM, The Watch, Katy Perry and ParaNorman. I have reflected the changes in the numbers above.

Boosh, you're next.
