I could probably do something like that, Ron. I'll wait until we're all done, of course, but that would seem to be the prudent choice. Should I incorporate the 101-110 films, since most of us did that too, or should I leave them out?

leestu - The Professional - Outstanding movie. One of my all-time favorites. Coming up much much later. (10/10)

transformers - Predator - Ditto. (10/10)

Ron Burgundy - Collateral - Just barely missed my list. One of Cruise's best. (9/10)

W - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - One of my faves as a kid, and so SO much better than that abominable remake by Burton. (7/10)

numberix - Gattca - Don't remember much about this film, other than that I just liked it. (6/10)

Banks - Fargo - Good film, but, like most Coen Brothers stuff, not something I can really sink my teeth into. (5/10)

Need the next few movies from surfer, greenarrow, Banks and Barca.

Can we and if so how could we SCORE this countdown, so we could have a collective top 100 or something? I thought the easiet way would just be give no 1. 100pts, no. 2 99pts, no. 3 98 pts......no. 99 2 pts, no. 100 1pt.
Um... actually, I'd already started doing this at the end of each 10. And I used that formula. I'm only including films that have been on the countdown twice, though.

Twice? But a lot of films have already appeared more than that. District 9, for example, has been on four people's lists.

Twice or more... not just twice. Meaning if only one person has a film on their list, it won't be counted overall...

That's probably the best thing to do, I have no doubt there will be at least 100 movies which crossover onto others lists throughout the countdown.

I was going to do the whole awarding points thing too, but I was also going to wait til the end, simply because it might be a waste of effort to score back end films which have virtually no shot of outscoring films at the top of someone's list. Limiting your scoring to those that appear twice or more is a good way to combat this though, so good work, W.

Shrykespeare

77. Bloodsport
JCVD is one of the all time great action guys of the pre 2000 era. He was one of the guys missing from The Expendables. This and kickboxer were some great flicks to kickstart his career, though perhaps its sometimes cheesy, its also full of 80s awesomeness.
7/10, 3 views

76. Raiders of the Lost Ark
You know I was so glad to revisit the 3 first Indiana Jones movies not so long ago, first because I used to think the Temple of Doom was the best and second because I thought Raiders was a little boring. How wrong I was, Raiders has some excellent action sequences and the whole movie is paced very well. The intro with a young Alfred Molina is one of the best in adventure movie history. Good pick.
8/10, 3 views

75. In the Line of Fire
This was an entertaining watch, I remember it had a cool John Malkovich villain and an aging Clint Eastwood perhaps knowing that this would be his last action movie. But I cant seem to remember bits and pieces so it cant have been mesmerising.
6/10, 1 view

74. Back to the Future
Marty McFly, one of the iconic 80s characters, a great watch. This movie had such an interesting idea that it spawned two sequels, one of which I liked a lot. The Doc is also a great character and arguably Christopher Lloyd best.
7.5/10, 4 views

73. Con Air
Con Air, well I can say im a sucker for fugitive movies and at the time it came out I was loving stuff like this, Face/Off, Broken Arrow and Independence Day, which may not be the most critically acclaimed movies but the are definitely entertaining, which a young 9 year old loves. Sirus the Virus and Steve Buscemi’s character were great. And Nic Cage, well I just love watching him. But like someone said, Con Air does suffer from dramatic bad music syndrome, I hate that how do live song, a lot.
6.5/10, 5 views

72. A Bug's Life
There is a big chunk of a period where most of your films seem to come from, and that is the 80s and 90s, a period from which I have seen every major movie (or just about), and this marked the first film by Pixar, one bunch of filmmakers who would leave a major footprint in the Box Office and in families dvd’s stacks. This movie is great, I loved it when it first came out.
8/10, 6 views

71. The Fifth Element
The Fifth element, it seems is a popular choice here, 3 times so far, I think. And for good reason, I think it’s a great film too. Good pick.
7.5/10, 5 views

silversurfer

77. Office Space
Not surprised to see this again, it is a bit of an oddball movie, but really entertaining. It might also be Jennifer Anistons best. A well rounded cast too.
7.5/10, 2 views

76. The 400 Blows
Haven’t seen.
N/A

75. High Fidelity
John Cusack was in in prime when he made this, and this might also be his peak. Jack Black like you said did very well also. But I feel its more about ex-lovers than music surfer. Good, but not great.
6.5/10, 3 views

74. The Nightmare Before Christmas
I cant remember so much about this, I do remember it had some original style animation and a fairly original plot too. And also that I watched the sequel before I did this.
5.5/10, 1 view

73. His Girl Friday
A classic huh? Well I should watch it.
N/A

72. Girl, Interrupted
You do have a thing for Wynona, we all know that. And I convinced that’s why you chose it…haha no just kidding. I have really just overlooked this movie but if you rate it no. 72 id say its worth a look.
N/A

71. Belleville Rendez Vous (Triplets of Belleville)
Dam, this is another film I have overlooked, I heard about this when it was nominated for an Oscar. I’ll give it a go, cause its going on the list.
N/A

thegreenarrow

77. A Room With a View
Not seen.
N/A

76. Bombon: El Perro
Not seen nor heard of.
N/A

75. V For Vendetta
A grand movie, Portman does so well in her role, ditto for Hugo Weaving too. I just need to here that V paragraph again, its very victorious and vonderful (that’s the best I can do).
8/10, 1 view

74. Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Im sure it was a blast to everyone who watched this when it came out, they would have been thinking, how they hell does that animated Roger and co interact with the human cast? Well its nothing these days so when I finally watched it I wasn’t overly blown away. But the story is ok and Bob Hoskins is great. But how do get attracted to a female cartoon character?
6/10, 1 view

73. Harold and Maude
Heard about this a while ago, its with Bud Cort right? Well ill give it go.
N/A

72. Fight Club
An Excellent absolutely mesmerizing film. You’ll here about it from me much later.
10/10, 5 views

71. A Room For Romeo Brass
N/A

transformers

77. First Blood
The best Rambo movie, if you noticed I already ranked the second Rambo on my list so I rate the franchise quite highly. Fantastic pick man.
9.5/10, 4 views

76. Team America: World Police
This came close to making my list, its such a funny movie, Trey Parker and Matt Stone neeeeeed to make another movie. Great pick.
8.5/10, 4 views

75. Batman Begins
I watched this recently, and just loved it, especially the first half. Yes Christian Bale was a great casting choice and I agree with what six said, the scarecrow was underused. And I also wish Katie Holmes came back for the TDK. Liam Neeson and Michael Caine are also very good.
9/10, 5 views

74. X2: X-Men United
Not as good as the first, but not as bad as the last, and better than Wolverine. I thought this was mildly entertaining but it never came close to matching the first, sorry to say.
6/10, 3 views

73. Inception
Like everyone has mentioned, I would say it could have made my top 100 but missed, more so because ive only seen it once rather than its too early to include. It has some excellent cinematography and a spellbinding story. I want to see it again!
8.5/10, 1 view

72. Grandma's Boy
Ha! A bit of a cult movie, I think its has some funny parts, but overall its probably not the blockbuster Allen Covert would have hoped for. But still, some great characters make this a nice surprise to see here.
6.5/10, 2 views

71. Predator
Perhaps the best action movie of ALL TIME! Cant say too much here apart from that it is one of my favourites. Excellent pick.
10/10, 12 views

englishozzy

77. Black Hawk Down
I have only seen this once, and im not sure why. I love big casts and I like modern war movies, so it’s a good thing you chose this, because I need to see it again.
6.5/10, 1 view

76. LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring
What a fantastic movie, a what an epic trilogy.
10/10, 12+ views

75. Up in the Air
George Clooney is a good actor, but I thought this movie was going to be much better than it actually was. To be honest I reckon it was a bit of a snoozefest. Average overall
5/10, 1 view

74. Ice Age
Still the best of all 3 Ice Age movies, the 3 main voices are perfectly cast, Leary, Romano and offcourse Leguiziamo. Not just a riveting story but also touches the heart. A fine choice.
9/10, 5 views

73. Tropic Thunder
Did I expect to see this again, no I did not. But I am glad, because it has 2 of the best characters in recent history played by Robert Downey Jnr and Tom Cruise. I would hope that we could see a sequel with just those two. Downey Jnr playing a black guy is just hilarious. And the previews are tops.
8/10, 4 views

72. The Italian Job
Again, not something I expected to see in anyones tops. I thought there was a bit of good action, but not much more.
5.5/10, 1 view

71. Patch Adams
Only ever watched half on tele once, and that was forgettable.
N/A, ½ view

Buscemi

77. The Women
N/A

76. The Last Metro
Looks ok, but haven’t seen it.
N/A

75. Howards End
N/A

74. Sling Blade
Billy bob still hasn’t topped this. A sad but good story with a great supporting cast.
7.5/10, 1 view

73. Grindhouse
In Australia, we never got this epic two feature, it was only released as separate films. Though I did watch them back to back in the comfort of my own lounge, it was only a little above average. Ive seen Planet Terror 3 times, but Death Proof just once. Oh Balls!
6/10, 1 view

72. Sideways
Im glad I did watch this because I never understood why people loved Paul Giamatti so much, but now I get it. And with six mentioning American Splendour I am thinking that is next. Thomas Haden Church is also pretty great in this mellow drama.
6.5/10, 1 view

71. High and Low
Not seen nor heard of.
N/A

Chienfantome

77. Hamlet
N/A

76. A River Runs Through It

75. The Matrix
Yes, deserving of making a top 75, sweet action, superb effects and a totally original story.
9.5/10, 7 views

74. Groundhog Day
My favourite Bill Murray film, an possible my fav rom-com, but its more of a com. Great pick.
10/10, 8 views

73. The Sweet Hereafter

72. Breathless (Ddongpari)

77. In the Mood For Love

N/A

76. The Purple Rose of Cairo
Wow, this sound very interesting, ill have to check it out.
N/A

75. Toy Story
Great pick, you’ll hear why later from me. Im Ron Burgundy and goodnight San Ireland.

74. American Splendour
Yes, this is now on my list. I should never have dismissed this film a hundred time in the video shop.
N/A

73. Kind Hearts and Coronets
I Will definitely give this a go. Glad you brought it up.
N/A

72. The Long Goodbye
I always like reading your choices Six, because I usually like it, and if I haven’t its probably gonna be something that ill look forward to and even better something I haven’t heard of.
N/A

71. Gattaca
Watched the first part of this film about 2 months ago, and I remembered why I like it. The story is original, its different for a Sci-Fi and the 3 leads are very good. Jude Law’s best role so far and im waiting for him to get back to this sort of form.
7.5/10, 1 view

Banks

77. I, Robot
First view: awesome. Second view: slightly above average. Why, I just don’t know. Maybe because I wasn’t in the mood, maybe because I knew what was gonna happen. But Will Smith proved his lead blockbuster role here.
6.5/10, 2 views

76. American Psycho
I think it was the first time I ever saw Christian Bale, and after that I simply had to watch every single thing he appeared in. This is such an awesome movie, ill explain why later.
10/10, 6 views

75. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
News team assemble! Awesome, someone else has chosen this, and in honour of your wise choice you can chose who you can be as my sidekick: Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland or Champ Kind. Offcourse I love this movie. It has so many great quotes, and it’s a blast to watch with mates.
10/10, 15+ views

74. Rush Hour
This came quite close from making my list, infact it was on, and I could probably still swap it out for my no. 100 but its just too late. Chris Tucker is great so too Jackie Chan, they look like they had fun making this and the sequels. BUT- Tucker did not deserve so much money for the sequels, and in the end that’s probably why he wont make more movies.
73. Heat
I am a fan of this, a big one. Great cast and great leads on opposing sides of the law.
9.5/10, 4 views

72. The Fifth Element
Yep as I mentioned before, I really enjoyed this. Gary Oldman is great and Bruce Willis has this laid back but semi Die Hard attitude. Also stars Chris Tucker, who shouldn’t get paid as much as he did.
7.5/10, 5 views

71. Fargo
And so the Coens make it again to the all acclaimed list, like I have said before, I thought the villians are excellent. And William H Macy, where did he go?
8.5/10, 3 views

Geezer

77. Forrest Gump
I used to absolutely love this movie, but now it has slide way down my list that from a top 50 spot. Still a great movie but I don’t know if its because ive grown up or because Ive grown tired of it.
7/10, 7 views

76. Titan A.E.
What Shyrke said, its underrated. But it has been a long while since ive seen it.
7/10, 1 view

75. Heavy Weights
N/A

74. Armageddon
Im not sure if this has been in the countdown already, but I gotta say that I like the rag tag bunch of oil drilling characters in this movie, even if I don’t think the movie is the greatest. Steve Buscemi is great as the ‘genius’. But I hate that song; I don’t wanna close my eyes…..oh just shutup Steven Tyler!
5.5/10, 4 views

73. The Blind Side
Well if Bullock is actually good, maybe I should give it a go.
N/A

72. The Bad News Bears
N/A

71. Blow
Good to see this on someone elses list. I think it’s a great film, and Depp is fantastic. I’ll say more later.

72. It's a Wonderful Life
A very enjoyable film, and one of the few films Ive seen from the 40s, but deserving of its place here.

71. The Professional (aka Leon)
Some of the cinematography, especially that which follows Gary Oldman is unbelievable. It has sme strange themes, which were highlighted when I saw it the second time but the film is still great. Jeno Reno is terrific.

77. The Pianist
Wow, this is not a comedy, and something I didn’t expect from you. But, it is a great film. Adrien Brody played his part here very well and deserved his Oscar. A pity about Roman Polanski but he is a great director.

76. Little Giants
I always got this mixed up with the Sandlot Kids, but im glad to say I liked this one better. I did say LikeD, because I haven’t seen this in a very long time. But as it stands it’s a good movie.

75. Twilight Zone: The Movie
Do you have to see the series to see this? Cause I haven’t seen the series at all.

74. Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
Im sure Ive watched this at least a little bit, but I cant remember. Sorry W.

73. That Thing You Do!
Not seen, and for some reason, I don’t think I want to see it.

72. Heavy Weights
Sounds like a movie id like to watch right now, on a lazy Sunday. And its going right up on my must see list.

71. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
I still like this one more than the remake. Gene Wilder is better than Johnny Depp here and the ending is better too. Good pick.

There is a big chunk of a period where most of your films seem to come from, and that is the 80s and 90s, a period from which I have seen every major movie (or just about).
This was a curious statement, so I went back and broke it down:

1960-69 : 1
1970-79: 2
1980-89: 29
1990-99: 31
2000-09: 35
2010: 2

So it seems you're right. But that's pretty equal footing for the last three decades.

77. Yeah, I pretty fond of history (I majored in it) especially WWII films but heck, there'll be other historical films on here as well (Spartacus is the only other one so far.)

76. Its called The Sandlot over here and I think it's a lot better movie than this one (it's certainly a lot higher on my list).

75. You don't have to see the series to watch the movie. The movie is four stories (or episodes... 3 from the original series, one written by John Landis) and an epilogue and prologue that really don't have much to do with the stories, except for the last one. In fact, you could watch any of the four stories without watching any of the others and not lose anything. The best by far is the last one, Nightmare at 20,000 feet which is one of the best of the original series. Both the original one with William Shatner and the movie version with John Lithgow are on Youtube. Let me know if you'd like to know some good original episodes.

I just edited them in. I'll forgive him just this once as i'm probably the person causing him the most headaches with my untimely movie submissions.
