Woo, it's all over. No major surprises in the Top 5.

That said, if I had split the LOTR films into 3 separate ones, I think only the first would make my list. The trilogy is kinda more than the sum of its parts for me.

What a strong Top 100, though. Thanks to the arty powers of myself, Chien, and Surf (with guest vocals from John and Boosch).

You've never seen Spirited Away? I figured you would have bought the Blu-ray at some point (seeing how you're always looking for Disney releases).

Haven't seen:

#100 - Remember the Titans
#77 - Captain America: The First Avenger
#70 - Step Brothers
#44 - Wreck-It Ralph

I'll try to catch them all at some stage.

I got halfway through it and stopped years ago. I'm not really a fan of anime at all.

Every one of them is on our VUDU. I'm not sure if you can watch it outside the US though.

What about watching it on a computer via a location masker (or whatever it's called) like Hola? I'm not computer savvy at all but I've watched international shows that way before.

Finally catching up with this. As expected, it's an excellent list that pretty accurately represents our collective taste. Shockingly, there's only 16 films on the list that I haven't seen (Sunshine, Take Shelter, The Hunt, Sympathy for Mr.Vengeance, Incendies, Howl's Moving Castle, About Time, Sideways, Primer, The Mist, Memories of Murder, In the Mood for Love, Spirited Away, Pan's Labyrinth, Ratatouille and Amelie). Hopefully I'll be able to check them all out within the next few months.

Finally sat down and watched all of About Time, just to see why it's liked by so many of you. Have to say guys, now sure what drugs you were on while watching it, as it's awful. I've already moaned about how selfish the characters are - they can travel back in time, and rather than use that to, you know, stop global atrocities, they use it to make their family's love lives slightly better, or to enjoy their commutes a little more.

But it's not just that. For a film about appreciating relationships you've a core marriage in which the husband is hiding a massive lie! So much for healthy bonds. And that would be somewhat acceptable if it wasn't for the awful direction and writing. Music is slathered over each moment in a Grey's Anatomy kind of clunky bluntness. And then there's the voice-over which tells you about the theme of each bloody scene as we're being shown it, just in case the "appreciate life" message hasn't sunk in despite us being told this every 10 seconds. Whatever strength there is in the father-son bond is ruined by this saccharine, schmaltzy mess.

So a major contender for my Top 100.

I never got the love for About Time either. Rachel McAdams made the exact same film four years earlier but people acted as if this one was all original and worth your time.

I'm sorry, but if you've seen The Time Traveler's Wife and any of Richard Curtis's directorial efforts, you've already seen About Time. It's not the masterpiece people seem to believe it is.

I've had a number of people recommend About Time to me, but I've avoided it because of how much I despised Love Actually. Its placement on our list is enough of a push for me to finally check it out, but my expectations are very low.
