Re: SIX TIPS, OR HOW TO PLEASE YOUR SLATE – THE FILMS OF 1/12

I have. I just find it annoying that they declared a random day mentioned a couple of times as the day to celebrate the movie instead of the actual release date. It's like how Community got six seasons and a movie solely because of a single line in a random episode referring to a show no one rememb...

October 3rd, the de-facto Mean Girls Day even though the movie opened in April
Um...have you seen the movie?

Re: SIX TIPS, OR HOW TO PLEASE YOUR SLATE – THE FILMS OF 1/12

You Yanks are an odd bunch, having only 6 major national public holidays a year, with three of them happening in the space of three weeks
Wait what are the other 3?

4th of July? Maybe MLK, although it's not observed by everyone...

I will drop It Ends With Us and pick up Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

Just think if I hadn't wasted my #1 priority on it Ends With Us, I would've been in position to take Taylor Swift instead...

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch

Some new dates: Arthur The King (Mark Wahlberg dog movie) - 3/15/24 (from 3/22/24) It Ends With Us - 6/21/24 (from 2/9/24) Makes sense for It Ends With Us, no way it was ready since it stopped filming only a week in, due to the strikes. Putting it so close to Bad Boys 4 (Sony too) makes me think tha...

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch

I'm with Busc - Ghostbusters as a brand is basically DOA at this point. Afterlife did not get good reviews (64 on RT, 45 on MetaCritic), and it did not do that well at the box office. It only had Encanto and West Side Story to really compete with, and still only did $125M in a prime holiday slot. It...

Re: Rate That Movie Part IV: Movies Never Sleep

Good Burger 2 2/210 Completely unnecessary sequel to the 1997 film that has none of the fun of the original, mostly rehashing moments from the original when it's not trying to be a lesson on late stage capitalism for a target audience that isn't going to understand the themes. The cast is wasted an...

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch

I'm surprised they're not holding it until closer to the election, but coming in April, I guess it'll be streaming by October/November. Normally would be a bad release date, but Fall Guy is not as scary as a Marvel movie opening the summer. Especially with no big movies until Furiousa/Apes on Memori...

Next Goal Wins - I've been over Taika for awhile now, and this did nothing to get me back on his side. Not as bad as Thor Love & Thunder, but nowhere near his highs of JoJo Rabbit. It was slightly funny here and there, but Taika sure knows how to run a joke into the ground. Napoleon - Have no idea w...

Re: The Trailers Shown Before Other Movies Thread

I've been slacking on going to the theater lately - maybe the AMC Scene Unseen showing of Next Goal Wins broke my spirit. But my dad did want to see Napoleon so broke my streak for that over Thanksgiving. Trailers before Napoleon IMAX: Aquaman 2 The Boys In The Boat Ferrarri Bob Marley One Love Argy...

Re: The Trailers Shown Before Other Movies Thread

At my location, the manager for some reason picks the trailers and only runs trailers for movies he wants to see (and his tastes are usually action, horror, Nicolas Cage, and what the Internet hypes up). So the trailers for Dream Scenario, The Holdovers, Next Goal Wins, and Saltburn would play befo...
