Re: Future Tracking From Exhibitors
Marshall's going to be DOA. Open Road has no idea how to market the film and Reginald Hudlin's nowadays remembered for his run as head of BET as well as Black Panther (neither of which was well-received) than doing House Party (yes, he produced Django Unchained but that's always going to be viewed a...

And Ryan Reynolds may be the hardest to predict actor ever in terms of box office. Just when you think he's box office poison in non-superhero vehicles, he surprises us.

Lady Macbeth 8/10 Shakespearian tragedy enters the 19th century as this cold but beautifully made drama is elevated by a great performance by Florence Pugh (I know it's only August but where are the awards talks for her?) and some very striking cinematography and period design (can you believe this ...

Re: change from imdb to RT
I much prefer Metacritic. Rotten Tomatoes is a shill for the studios and it often punishes independent films. Metacritic cuts out the crap.
And I believe Baywatch failed more due to audiences not wanting to see Zac Efron play a bro again rather than reviews.

Re: Down the Rabbit Hole with Buscemi: August 18th-20th
I'm thinking it could open to $55-60 million and top out at $150-170 million. Yes, it's Lionsgate handling an animated film and the marketing hasn't been too great (but with a franchise like this one, do you need to do marketing?) but you can't underestimate the audience that's going to see it. The...

Super Troopers 2 is rumored to be finally arriving on 4/20/2018. It's also expected to open in over 2,500 theatres. Meanwhile, the Untitled Fox/Lightstorm Project is looking to be Guillermo del Toro's remake of Fantastic Voyage. Filming is set to start in January. Speaking of January, Paramount has ...

Re: Down the Rabbit Hole with Buscemi: August 18th-20th
I actually saw The Invasion and The Last Legion in a theatre (and Leave it to Beaver). I've been seeing projections of The Hitman's Bodyguard in mid to high teens and even $20 million but audiences only seem to like Reynolds as a superhero. I feel that the industry mistakes his following as an excus...

Down the Rabbit Hole with Buscemi: August 18th-20th
This is utility infielder Buscemi, a late replacement to do this week's lineup after a lack of feedback from the originally scheduled starter. This week, we have two wide releases, both comedies, and three limited releases fresh from Sundance and into your mouth (though you'll need to pay your $12 f...

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in
Watched Escape from New York in a theatre last night. After sitting through three trailers (yes, they showed trailers for new movies* before a one-night-only screening of a 36 year movie) and an intro where a Captain Lou Albano-like figure misquoted 80's movies, I got to see a DCP courtesy of Rialto...

Re: The Break Out Game
Though he made for a good Jeffrey Dahmer and appeared in a horror franchise, I'm going with The Hurt Locker. Before that, he was really just another actor struggling to get by (same with Anthony Mackie, without The Hurt Locker, he probably wouldn't be Falcon).

Re: Rate That Movie Part IV: Movies Never Sleep
Actually, Wind River is Sheridan's second directorial effort. I found a few days ago he directed a film some years earlier called Vile that went straight-to-DVD. Reading about the premise (it's a Saw-inspired torture porn), it might explain why Sheridan loves doing films about people committing crim...
