Re: 2023-24 Yearlong Box Office League Waiver Wire

Just so I don't have to keep staring at it on my slate, I'll drop Please Don't Destroy and add Imaginary.

Yeah, we might as well get it going. The only caveat would be that if Ron surfaced during the 48-hour window and drafted a film that somebody would claim it, he would get it.
That works for me

Re: 2023-24 Yearlong Box Office League Waiver Wire

Chien thinks we should open the wire given that we've been waiting almost a week (and I agree). Anyone object to starting the 48 hour clock?

We've been waiting for Ron for almost a week. I think it's rather fair that you replace your film with waiver now.
Alright, I'll take you up on that haha. Hope Ron is able to swing by soon.

Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft

To be fair to me, Please Don't Destroy wasn't undated when I drafted it lol. Hopefully Ron picks sometimes in the next year so I can drop it  Of all the slates, I probably favor Chien/Screen's. Chien and I are usually picking the same kind of stuff so I always like what he puts together and Scr...

Re: 2023-24 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE

I think it also owes to the fact it seems this year there are, for now, except in March, very few films dated for 2024, which gives some interesting space for films not yet dated. Or maybe we're just a bunch of gamblers. I sent en email to Ron to tell him he needs to pick again. Yeah I think that s...

Re: 2023-24 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE

I'm not liking all these TBAs given what happened last year but I'd rather throw a dart than take anything left... I'll close my draft with Dear Santa . It started production in March but is no longer listed on Georgia's active production site so it may be done filming. And you would think it would ...

Re: 2023-24 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE

I’ll take Coyote v. Acme. Supposedly it’s still coming out at some point but no idea what to expect from WB. Just hoping it hits the calendar before next summer.

Glad I wasn't considering Please Don't Destroy. It's getting dumped onto Peacock.
Sigh… I lose a film before the draft even ends…

I'm glad Chien kept poking me then because the clock ran while I was asleep and I almost timed out

Re: 2023-24 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE

I'll take Borderlands. I took it last year but had reshoots in January so it didn't come out. Hopefully they finally have it in a decent spot and it'll come out this year. If not, to the waiver wire it goes!

Re: 2023-24 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE

Yeah... we're already scraping the bottom of the barrel. These last rounds are going to be nasty. I guess I'll take the Untitled Please Don't Destroy Project . Hopefully this isn't another SNL bomb like Popstar but after having to solve for 5 or so openings on my slate last year, I just want somethi...

Re: 2023-24 YEARLONG BOX-OFFICE DRAFT LEAGUE

I'll take Asteroid City. That trailer is as Wes Anderson-y as a Wes Anderson movie gets but hopefully it does well in Cannes and springboards from there. I'm curious to see how this one does at the box office with Focus distributing.

Great ideas, guys. Naming the competition after Shryke and honoring him with a countdown he would have loved, this would be a great tribute.
Agree, I love both those ideas
