Re: Tranny Tackles the Cinema: The Films of 4/5
Extremely disappointing for Monkey Man, given the pre-release buzz. Had it stayed on Netflix, it would have gotten far more response in the first day than Universal managed to get with its lack of push this weekend. The results also question whether if SXSW hype translates to box office. Everything ...

Cinemascores:
Monkey Man: B+ (a bit of a disappointing score until you find that the first John Wick got a B)
The First Omen: C (below the 2006 Omen's C+ score)

I wonder if Toy Story 5 is to appease Tim Allen over not being cast in Lightyear.

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
Not sure how the awards shows are going to respond to a horror film that's not from Jordan Peele. It might just be a wide opening right away to fill auditoriums before Christmas titles show up. In addition, that title has been getting a name change at some point. You can't really display "bitch" on ...

Re: Rate That Movie Part IV: Movies Never Sleep
Totem 3/10 A girl visits her grandparents' house for the birthday of her father (or uncle, from the subtitles of the DCP I saw)...and not a whole lot else happens. The plot got astray pretty quickly as the characters have little to do and there's not a whole lot of objectives in the storyline outsid...

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
That sounds a lot like Astronaut Wives Club, that one season show that David O. Russell was going to produce before ghosting the project. And seeing how it's from Greg Berlanti, it's probably going to feel like a lame network TV show in film form.

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch
Paramount and Skydance are in talks to merge, which would effectively keep Paramount's standing as a major studio while increasing David Ellison's standing as a Hollywood player. I knew it wasn't going to be Warner Bros. going after them (I actually got downvotes on Reddit for saying that merger was...

Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft
I don't. I just don't get audiences anymore. We know a lot of modern product is crap and we don't get why critics tell us everything is good but we keep accepting it. Despite what we are told, we don't want change. We are too scared to be the solution of problems and are more interested in complaini...
