Yep. Good one. And Palin herself is in the news, just for saying stupid shit. And some people like her BETTER for it.

Re: What are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or close to now. S03

Wow. I LOVE NBK. Possibly my fav film of all time. Think it's a great satire of the media and American culture, that has shown to be ahead of it's time, in regards to where we are headed as a culture. If you notice, people who are complete pieces of shit are now being watched and adored. Also, ppl f...

They do border that line, Busc. I would say it's less so than B: LA, but it is there for sure.

Re: Rate That Movie 2!: Electric Boogaloo

I like B-movies quite a bit, but couldn't stand that one. It just played like pro-war propaganda to me. (Though, granted, this may be something that I see more living in US)

Re: Rate That Movie 2!: Electric Boogaloo

And one last thing, no Buscemi this is not Battle: LA in Chicago and there is pretty much no similarties between Transformers and Battle: LA. Except for the fact they are both humans vs. extraterrestrial species, both focus little on character and plot and instead are sold on explosions and consequ...

Re: So... What will be the next big series of adaptations?

I know the book is set in Sweden. Fincher's Sweden looks too much like Toronto though. And Larsson intended for the rape and sexuality to be very ugly and graphic. Fincher is wanting to give it a lighter depiction as his plans are to ramp up the violence and sex to entertain the audience rather tha...

Re: What are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or close to now. S03

And from the sublime of Malick to the ridiculousness of Zack Snyder. I watched Sucker Punch (3/10) out of sheer curiosity tonight, but man I sure regretted that. One of the most ridiculously awful films I've seen this year. It really is a stupid, vapid film. In a way, I appreciate that Snyder was t...

Re: So... What will be the next big series of adaptations?

It's kind of unfair to base it on Fight Club and Zodiac, as Fincher is much more well known than when he did those two, and this has a built in fanbase from the book.

I do agree with the director of Enders Game not inspiring confidence. I'm hoping, but not holding my breath.

Didn't like it as much as you did, Shryke, but I do agree it was better than Thor. Not even close to X-Men.

Re: So... What will be the next big series of adaptations?

Hunger Games sounds like a total bite off of Battle Royale, which was a great book. Dragon Tattoo will be huge. Respect your opinion, Busc, which I do agree with alot of the time, but you're misfiring on this one. And yeah, they're adapting Ender's Game, as six said. Those books are phenomenal! Read...

Re: Rate That Movie 2!: Electric Boogaloo

Super 8 - a VERY high 9 out of 10 What a great movie, I am with Surfer on this one. Through 3/4 of the movie, I felt like a kid again, reliving the glory days of Spielberg. The kids in this movie were phenomally acted and written. Usually kids of that age are horribly written, as they either displa...

Re: What are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or close to now. S03

I wish Black Death had been released in theater in France. It went directly to DVD :( I think it only played in like 2 theaters in the US, but I was lucky enough to be close enough to one to catch it on opening day (first showing even, I think). Triangle like Ghost Ship? From what I remember about ...

I added the Chaser to netflix cue.

Also, this is mainly to Nspan, cause he's a fellow fan of Chris Smith, but to the rest of you as well: BLACK DEATH is now on netflix instant. Smith's newest film is freaking AWESOME and worth seeing.

Milk is great. DD is classic. BHD is really good. Unstoppable was good. Blade Runner is fantastic.

All good choices. Personally, I would say Blade Runner, then Milk.

Re: What are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or close to now. S03

Speaking of this subject, I'm watching this movie called Killer at Large on netflix right now. It's a doc on the obesity problem in America. America is apparently 5 billion pounds overweight total, which is a pretty big number. Good doc so far. You can tell it was made on cheap and a bit amateurish,...
