Re: Top 50 Songs of 2020 (50-41)
Song 44: Leestu: Gorillaz, Momentary Bliss - Very different from my previous experience of the band. I too like the guitar at the start and there are some interesting elements to it all, at times having a Clash vibe to it, but overall just didn't really click and will likely be forgotten soon enough...

Re: Top 50 Songs of 2020 (50-41)
Catching up: Leestu: King Gizzard, Ontology - Has an Eastern vibe to it which was unexpected, but the Spaghetti Western slant keeps it interesting. Not the most immediate of songs of theirs I have heard, and not exactly a reminder for me to listen to the record, but it was ok. Bob Vylan, We Live Her...

Re: Top 50 Songs of 2020 (50-41)
Round 47 Leestu: Ty Segall and Cory Hason, 'She's A Beam' - How did I not know these two had been collaborating last year? I have, like yourself, a deep love for Ty, and Wand are superb, their last record was one of my favourite of last year. This song took a little while to get going, felt like a ...

Re: Top 50 Songs of 2020 (50-41)
By the way, I have started a playlist on Spotify for the first 10 (50-41) batches of songs to play at your own leisure. Here is the link for anyone interested. I will keep adding songs each day as we progress.

Re: Top 50 Songs of 2020 (50-41)
Catching up, not much to take from first three rounds unfortunately: Leestu Flatworms, The Aughts - Great song from a very good album (Market Forces is also great). You may recall I had Red Hot Sand from their previous record in my top 100 of the 21st century countdown, and this is right up there wi...

Re: Top 50 Songs of 2020 (50-41)
UDM, If you arr going to have a weird obsession, I'm sure you can do a hell of a lot worse than Shakira, I look forward to many hips shaking! I have given myself a limit of one song per artist, I think you can probably get a good idea from each artist in my countdown from the one song and can invest...

Top 50 of 2020 - The Also Rans
Been a while since i posted last, hope everyone is well. While I'm stuck in lockdown again prepping this countdown has given me a little distraction and now I'm very excited to hear what everyone has been listening to this past year. I have been enjoying Shryke and Leestu's countdowns on Facebook to...

Re: Top 100 Songs of the Millennium (2000-2019) - THE #1s
1: The White Stripes, “Fell In Love With A Girl” (2001) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTH71AAxXmM So there we have it, after many months of over analysing, dissecting and scrutinising almost every song I have listened to over the past 20 years, it turned out I could not separate the two The White ...

Re: Top 100 Songs of the Millennium (2000-2019) - THE #1s
Thoughts on six's Countdown Ah, this is where all those crossovers were hiding. Freaking 12 crossovers! Including your number one!! Obviously we share a lot of our taste in music to have quite so many crossovers, and even beyond that many of the artists you featured also featured on my own list jus...

Re: Top 100 Songs of the Millennium (2000-2019) - THE #1s
Thoughts on NSpan's Countdown Two rounds down, and still no crossovers. That is a shame, as again, as with Chien, there was much to enjoy from your countdown. A lot of it was in the outskirts of my own tastes, so a lot of it was new to me, and while at times there were moments when I shrugged at so...

Re: Top 100 Songs of the Millennium (2000-2019) - THE #1s
Thoughts on Chienfantome's Countdown I quite enjoyed your rundown of favourite songs this millennium, Chien, there was a nice mix of the familiar and the new for me, and while on both of those counts my appreciation was hit and miss, it gave me something to look forward to each round. I can probabl...
