Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in Time

Never seen Serenity, but I feel like I've watched it after listening to both The Flophouse and How Did This Get Made. It seems like the perfect movie for what you're doing. I just clicked the link and saw this was for yesterday. I probably would have tried it out.

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in Time

I'm not on HBO Max right now. It's really good but I'm paying for too many streaming services.

Re: Coronavirus Megathread

Ours is the 28th. I looked at Indy and they have some for the 21st. If you look at the 22nd you can watch some new (probably terrible) releases.

Re: Coronavirus Megathread

So, my kid is supposed to start high school in a week. They've pushed it back a week twice already. This last time they said they're splitting students into two groups based on name and they will go every other day. That lasts until Labor Day (three weeks) which then it is assumed we're going full r...

I ended up preordering King of Staten Island with a credit on Fandango Now. I can watch it 8/11. If anyone wants to see it I'll figure out a way to get it to you.

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch

My first thought is that this is dumb, but I don't know how well this was going to go in the first place (closer to Dumbo probably). It's obviously aimed more internationally and isn't as PG as the other bigger kids movies released VOD (Scoob, Onward, Trolls 2). I won't be watching it until it's par...

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in Time

Yesterday I watched a couple that are leaving The Criterion Channel at the end of the month. My Own Private Idaho 6/10 Things Behind the Sun 9/10: Has anyone seen this one? I didn't know it existed. It never had a theatrical release. I guess it was made for or bought by Showtime? It's pretty brutal ...

Insomnia (Nolan) 7/10 (seen every Nolan now) Eyes Without a Face 6/10 Purple Noon 8/10 Scoob! 4/10 The Gold Rush 6/10 But I'm a Cheerleader 8/10 A couple favorites I caught again on HBO Max: Armageddon 9/10 (Looking back, was there a better 90's cast? Just for how many legit stars were in it. Especi...

That Tetris movie sounds like it could be pretty good. I just listened to a podcast about the story and it has a lot of Soviet intrigue.

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in Time

I have a guy that comes into my work and has me order pre-code and 1930's films and is certain specific films aren't available on DVD because they're "suppressed." I point out that very few people are looking for this film (most with less than 100 IMDb ratings) and normally it's in the public domain...

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch

Finn Wolfhard is a charismaless actor who hasn't proven himself as a leading man and has been like wallpaper in everything he's been in. The only people who seem to like him are people who think him saying fuck is the epitome of humor. My 14 year old, her friends, and countless people that made Str...

Re: The Latest Date Changes 2: The New Batch

Of course, this is the same company that's trying to make Finn Wolfhard the new face of Ghostbusters and cast Noah Centineo as He-Man. I know for a fact that 13-14 year olds like Finn Wolfhard. Nostalgic adults are going to watch it anyway. If you're trying to get the kids, it was a good casting.

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in Time

To me, anything he's associated with after what happened is tainted just as anything Bill Cosby has ever done is tainted. Those that work with him now are at least a little tainted, but I can watch their stuff without thinking about it. I can't watch his stuff without thinking about it. It's probabl...

A couple of things that I don't believe are accurate: He has been accused of it after . At least four other times: https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/8/17/16156902/roman-polanski-child-rape-charges-explained-samantha-geimer-robin-m And he has admitted to having sex with many minors in California where...

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now? Episode 3 - Turtles in Time

I mean, haven't we seen Polanski "truthers" until the #metoo movement made it uncool? From "It's not 'rape' rape." To boisterous applause at awards wins. To "Well I didn't see anything when I worked with him."-type comments? And at least one documentary that basically said "Leave this poor man alon...
