Re: Walleye's Weekly Winners: The Films of 4/7
Sadly I think even the 22m opening is probably a bit high for smurfs I don't know anyone that cares about it at all. My guess is it comes in under going in style and Beauty with around 14-15m. Really do hope colossal does well so I can see it in theaters.

Re: Trailer: Passengers
maybe its just cuz I've been following this movie for so long but I swear I've seen this exact premise before in either a movie or TV show. Super long space journey, guy wakes up early, guy wakes girl up so he isn't alone, they fall in love and have crazy hijinks for a while, then a dramatic ending....

Re: Trailer: Collateral Beauty
I don't think that it looks that bad, but it bothers me that I can't tell if death, love, and time are Christmas Carol style or if his friends just think that hiring actors to portray them is really the kind of therapy that he needs. If its the later thats really screwed up and I'll probably end up ...

Re: SIX TIPS, OR HOW TO PLEASE YOUR SLATE - FILMS OF 8/19
I'm pretty sure its just a casual watching thing. Keep it on in the back ground, maybe make sure you have it on for an event you care about but its nothing to move your life around for. I'm not sure the reason but my theater this weekend was actually busier for just about everything than we were las...

Re: TAKE IT TO THE BANKS - THE FILMS OF 5/6
Got to see it last night and all the reviews are right. It's probably the best MCU movie yet, spiderman was amazing, blackpanter made me excited for his solo movie, and the Airport fight scene is probably my favorite funnest 10 min of film I've ever seen. I'm not sure what the ceiling is for this on...

Re: TAKE IT TO THE BANKS - THE FILMS OF 4/15
Early results have Jungle book mid-high 80s. Pretty good. But I'm more interested in BvS vs Zoo. Batman is gonna fall hard again this weekend looking around 8.5m to Zoo's 7.7m and its only 4m ahead of zoo. Just how dissapointed is WB going to be when Zootopia and Deadpool both end up outgrossing the...

Re: TAKE IT TO THE BANKS - THE FILMS OF 4/1
Just under 60m seems about right for week 2. How awesome is it that before the summer season starts we will already have 3! 300m grosses. Last year we ran into the issue of the big movies accounting for a larger percentage of total grosses than ever before and it only had 6 gross over 300m this year...

Re: TAKE IT TO THE BANKS - THE FILMS OF 3/25
I saw the movie on Wed and I can tell why the critics aren't loving on the film. Lots of hard core CBM fans will probably like it but they are going to have a harder time getting average joe to go out like this film and then tell his friends to go see it. Snyder made many decisions in the way he mad...

Re: Trailer: Ghostbusters
Well I'm not impressed at all. Even with McCarthy being toned down in the trailer I still find her incredibly difficult to watch. All of the comedy in the trailer just fell flat for me like a really badly written SNL skit. Looking at the cast list I can see why I get that impression. I have no probl...

Super excited to see SkullpoopL doing so well. My theater last night couldn't handle the business and sold out every show after 6 and quite a few before that. Sent a lot of people away at the end of the night. Pretty good sign for its legs I would guess. And its definitely a repeat viewing type movi...

Re: SPEARE'S HIATUS: TAKE IT TO THE BANKS - THE FILMS OF 12/
Amazing weekend. Star Wars will be the 5th Highest grossing film of all time in just 10 days. #1 is all but guaranteed and somewhere in between 800-1b isn't even sounding unlikely. Imagine that 1 BIIIIILLLLLIOOON dollars! cue dr evil laugh. Daddys home is overperforming and concussion is the only th...

Re: SPEARE'S HIATUS: TAKE IT TO THE BANKS - THE FILMS OF 12/
While the 2d version of star wars has been doing quite well at my theater (selling 70%+ of seats almost every show) Disney has the movie playing about 2/1 3D/2D. And the 3D only has about 1/3 to 1/2 of each theater full. We came in way under predictions for it both thursday evening and friday. I'm n...

Re: DO WE KEEP GOING?
I know that I haven't been able to keep up with playing the game this last year (having kid #2 has certainly taken all my free time) but I still visit these forums everyday. Theres no other place like it on the internet. It's become a part of my life game or no game. So ya I would miss this place de...

Buscemi wrote:Lesson learned: never piss off your fans. They will make you pay.
Can we also try and teach them the lesson of quit trying to make movies out of tv shows and tv shows out of movies? And quit rebooting stuff that people never cared about in the first place?

49m huh? I see someone didn't want to make it 3 weeks of 50m predictions that went bust.
