Re: Top 50 Songs of 2020 (20-11)

15: Leetstu - obv I love it haha JE - can definitely appreciate the talent here, but wouldn't be something I listen to regularly Ron - great Drake song Shryke - there's no way you can't convince me this song isn't from 1973 (in a good way) Six - nothing inherently bad, but not for me Surfer - really...

the reference to Strange Fruit only reinforces how this is no Strange Fruit. The movie trailer at the end didn't do much for me either.
A reference isn't equal to a comparison...saying the song is no Strange Fruit isn't valid because it was never trying to be?

Yeah they announced Nimona was dead when they shut down Blue Sky, along with an Ice Age Disney+ show I believe.

Re: Top 50 Songs of 2020 (30-21)

JohnErle - pleasant is the best way I can describe this. Definitely a road trip vibe here leestu - loved the bassline, I don't know if I'd seek it out but I enjoyed it all the way through Ron B - feels a bit "local rapper", but wasn't bad at all Screen - I only know Tove Lo from Talking Bodies but t...

Sorry about that, I sent the wrong song to Shryke. I was trying to decide between the two and kept going back and forth.

The Bonfyre, Automatic

I love her voice here. The production is average, but her voice makes up for it tenfold.

Is it me or does this look a lot like Kate Winslet dressed up as a rapper/young'n?

Re: Rate That Movie Part IV: Movies Never Sleep

I missed the WW84 talk, but man what a piece of shit that was. Think I'm officially done with DCEU movies, they haven't done anything worth watching since Man of Steel. (The Ultimate Edition of BvS is decent, but of course they chopped it up into a dumb mess for its release in theaters). My unasked-...

I figured I've give Black Bear a pass after I saw it was directed by the writer of Always Shine. Talk about a thriller with almost no thrills.
I'd say it's definitely worth a watch. Then again Hamilton was my favorite movie of 2020 so take that for what you will

Re: Rate That Movie Part IV: Movies Never Sleep

My Christmas and NY viewing Black Bear: 6/10 Mostly watchable for Aubrey Plaza, who attempts a role beyond her usual weird/kooky persona. Here, a filmmaker goes to a retreat run by a hipster couple, and gets mixed up in their relationship issues. Then we see a story about a film crew trying to tell...

Re: Rate That Movie Part IV: Movies Never Sleep

Theaters here are open too. I considered going to see Promising Young Woman but then I read it'll be VOD in two weeks, so I'll wait.

I have to wonder who are these people paying to see WW84 (there's sold out shows here), when its streaming on HBOMax, which is cheaper for 1 month than 1 movie ticket.
