Re: Rate That Movie!

A Prophet 9/10 I cvan't say enough good things about this movie. It was 2 1/2 hours long yet felt like it flew by, and I wished it had been another hour longer because I just wanted to spend more time with the characters. My wife and I were already casting the leads for the American remake in our h...

Re: Rate That Movie!

Green Zone 7/10 Went into this pretty much expecting "Bourne in Iraq", and it wasn't far off seeing as how it teamed Matt Damon with Bourne director Paul Greengrass. The movie basically served as a platform to explain why we went into Iraq, and how these false pretenses were served up to the Americ...

Re: The Latest Date Changes

Shryke - It's kind of tough to change your movies on the slates now with the prices being incorrect for the Jan-Mar leagues. Plus, without knowing what the correct prices are, you have no way of knowing if you can afford movie after you drop one like Clash of the Titans.

Re: The NFL Thread

Trannie - Really the only tough choice was whether to put Aikman at 15 or Len Dawson, and I gave it to Troy because he had two rings, and Len only had one.

Re: The NFL Thread

But would have the AFL survived past 1969 had these events not happened? They would have not. The AFL teams would have folded and their history would have been expunged from the records. Had these events not happened, we would probably still be seeing only 12 NFL teams, no Pittsburgh dynasty (in fa...

Boosh - please, and I am saying please here, stop getting your information from Wikipedia. The AFL/NFL merger was approved in 1966, three years before Namath led the Jets to a victory in Super Bowl III.

Re: The NFL Thread

There's a great book out there that you should pick up called "How to lie with statistics". It basically shows how you can prove any point you want with statistics. Ok, find me the statistics that can prove this point: Jamarcus Russel is the greatest quarterback to ever play in the NFL. Okay, maybe...

Re: The NFL Thread

Now, I see where we're differing. You're basing your opinion on who is a good quarterback for fantasy football, and I'm basing mine on who is a good one for real football. There's a great book out there that you should pick up called "How to lie with statistics". It basically shows how you can prove...

Re: The NFL Thread

Geez - Couldn't disagree with you more. I have spoken with Dan Marino on many occassions (He's a local boy), and he has told me over and over that he would trade all of his statistics for one Super Bowl ring. Until these guys get one, their stats mean absolutely nothing to them. You say Bradshaw was...

Re: The NFL Thread

The main reason Manning needs to win this game is to get that second Super Bowl ring. That's what gets you up there with the Elways, Montanas, Bradshaws, etc. There's a whole litany of guys with one Super Bowl ring who no one who considers a top flight QB (Dilfer, Hostetler, Williams just to name a ...
