If only the Academy pulled off a shocker like this on Sunday I would be much too pleased. Very happy to see it was between Franco and Eisenberg.
Firth should have won last year.

Re: The Reel Society of Film Critics Awards Ceremony 2011
My only qualms so far are Chloe Moretz and Dragon Tattoo but I will assume not enough people saw A Prophet or Dogtooth. Like most of the winners though.

Re: The Reel Society of Film Critics Awards 2011 Nominations
I have class on Thursday and don't get home until around 830PM eastern time. If the awards start at that time or later I can make it. Also it would be nice if we can have them on some chat program as opposed to refreshing a thread all the time....

Re: The Reel Society of Film Critics Awards 2011 Nominations
I thought Rapace was decent, I saw the first two films and not the third. However I don't think her work should be in the top five or even ten leading actress performances of the year. And Buscemi, I did not vote for Emma but now that I think about it I should have. Her performance in Easy A was gre...

Re: The Reel Society of Film Critics Awards 2011 Nominations
Hmm I am pretty pleased with the nominees overall. I especially like J Moore, Steinfeld, Stone along with the foreign films and original screenplay nominees. I thought I was the only one here that saw Another Year. Only qualms of mine are Wahlberg and Rapace. Also like that Hershey got in. And yes A...

Re: The ReelSociety of Film Critics Awards 2011
We should definitely vote on
Score, editing, cinematography, visual effects
And if yall really want to be serious sound mixing, sound editing, art direction, costumes.
Ideally we would vote on everything the Academy does minus the short films.

Re: Best of 2010 (Miscellaneous)
We need to do the awards.
Buscemi, Desplat's work on Ghost Writer is leagues better than King's Speech.

Can't fathom why Inside Job was $3. That was an obvious PTA king.

Re: Rate That Movie!
Slumdog is a better film than 127 Hours in my estimation.
As for as Kids Are All Right. I also liked Moore better but they are both excellent and worthy of awards recognition, and both in the LEAD category as well.

Re: Rate That Movie!
127 Hours 4/5
Boyle's style holds it back from the experience it ideally should feel like. Franco and of course the source material are able to overcome some poor stylistic decisions and make for an inspiring cinematic experience.

Re: Rate That Movie!
Unstoppable 3.5/5 One of Tony Scott's better projects in a while, certainly an improvement over Pelham and Domino and I have not seen Deja Vu. I really like Denzel here, he seems natural and at home in this role. The editing is fluid as we are dealing with many difference characters in different loc...
