Re: Tranny Tackles the Cinema: The Films of 3/29
I hope On the Adamant will find an audience, even if a bit small, it's a wonderful film.

Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft
Standings (up until March 24) Shrykemi and Banks saw their last films opening, and they are the ones moving the fastest right now. Six is getting 10 million closer to me. And just when you thought Tranny couldn’t get higher, he has Godzilla x Kong opening next week. You’re good for 1.5 billion, bud...

Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft
Standings (up until March 17) Banks keeps on climbing up, this time to 6th place, above Ron. The rest remains in place. Six is catching up on me, only $31M behind now. If Monkey Man does better than The First Omen, it should be enough for me to stay in the first to last spot. Yay ! 1. Trannyspeare ...

Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft
Standings (up until March 10) Banks made a big jump in the standings thanks to the spice and a panda. He’s now 7th, after staying at the bottom for a while, and he will not stop there. The rest has not moved. 1. Trannyspeare - $1,391,807,342 (5 films - Love lies Bleeding, Bob Marley, Argylle, Night...

2. Blade Runner (1982) I have honestly lost track of all the versions of these films, and some of you have already mentioned that some of them are to be forgotten. But Blade Runner is a phenomenal sci-fi classic, one which leaves images that won't ever desert you once you've seen it. But it's not j...

Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft
Chien, Walleye doesn't just have Episodes 1-3 of The Chosen, he has the entire 4th season. We decided to package all 3 installments together back when it hit the wire since they released in such close proximity. Really ? I'll adjust it later. But I don't really understand why that decision was take...

But you still have 3 films to open, each with a bit of potential to grab some dollars.
I only have Monkey Man. I hope it's gonna break out. The Crunchyroll film I took, I have no idea if it can make money.

Re: 2023-24 Full Year Slates - The Shryke Draft
Standings (up until February 25) Back after a two-week absence, the standings are here and everyone stayed put, although Tranny increased his lead. Six is on the verge of crossing $400M, and Banks is about to jump thanks to the power of the spice. I still don’t know who, between Six and myself, wil...

Re: ShrykeVerse Top Movies of the 80's Countdown
3. Once Upon a Time in America (1984) Sergio Leone died way too young, and we all wish he would have had time to make more films. But it seems relevant that his testimonial oeuvre is this masterpiece. Many of you have cited it already, so I don't have to convince you. This isn't a film I haven't wa...

Re: ShrykeVerse Top Movies of the 80's Countdown
I had the chance of seeing it in theater, in a beautiful restored copy, with Cimino and Huppert attending, in one of the best cinemas of Paris, almost two decades ago, and it's one of those screenings I'll never forget.

Re: ShrykeVerse Top Movies of the 80's Countdown
I've got Internet probelms at home so I have a hard time finishing this countdown, but I will ! 4. Heaven's Gate (1980) My favorite film of Michael Cimino will forever be The Deerhunter, but Heaven's Gate is a glorious second. The film's got this bad reputation because it sank United Artists, but it...

Re: Best of 2023 So Far
Haha  Since I published my list, I've caught and loved Monster and The Zone of Interest, definitely amongst my favourite of 2023, both. Poor Things, on the other end, I had a hard time sitting through the first 90 minutes, but the last hour made it worth it, but far from my favourites. As for m...

Re: ShrykeVerse Top Movies of the 80's Countdown
#5 Boosh: Do the Right Thing (1989) Spike Lee's best. John: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) Not sure I've ever seen it. Ron: Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) Here's one I really want to see. Sounds fun. six: Fitzcarraldo (1982) I have actually never seen it. I've been meaning to for year...
