The date for The Fire Inside seems to have been chosen so MGM can promote it during the Olympics. But why not have the movie lead into the Olympics and open on July 12th? Fly Me to the Moon, which already has trailers out, could move up to It Ends with Us's old date, which would leave only Longlegs ...

That makes five wide releases on August 9th. I have to imagine something moves up (either Borderlands or The Fire Inside, both of which have been complete for two years).

I have to wonder who decided to release Arcadian on the same day as another well-reviewed dystopian film with no marketing whatsoever. Even the biggest Nicolas Cage fan wouldn't have known this came out on Friday.

Joker: Folie a Deux is set to be getting around 75 70mm prints worldwide. Yes, the first one had a 70mm run but I'm surprised by the number of prints for this one.

In other news, Alien will return to theatres on April 26th.

I was surprised to find out the Beach Boys documentary isn't going to be a Get Back-sized miniseries. You could easily have six hours of material for one, maybe more.

Documentaries on The Beach Boys (co-directed by the director of the Stallone documentary) and Jim Henson (directed by Ron Howard) will appear on Disney+ next month. Looks like Disney wants that Best Documentary Feature Oscar next year.

It looks like Young Woman and the Sea will be a quick dump before hitting Disney+. The newly-released poster only mentions "select theatres", suggesting a release of only a few hundred theatres.
